Mosconi DSP 4to6 and other Audio Upgrade decisions...from a newb

Gents,
My first post, my 4th Toyota, my first TRD PRO and I am damn proud to own it! I couldn't find the word Mosconi on site, so thought I would start a thread.

During my search for a TRD PRO, I checked out a couple of Ford Raptors, just to see how the other side lives. Nice truck, but not a PRO. One gentleman I met with turned out to an Audio Hound, actually, more of an audio god. I was completely seduced by his stereo. It was like hanging out with super models who think you are funny. It was well over $50,000 worth of gear. Turns out it was a test rig, he is a well respected Audio Judge & Writer. the build was A couple of Arc Amps, a Mosconi DSP, Focals all the way around, And a crazy set of Audio Mobile subs that just cut right thru me. his system, like the super models, was out of my league. So I asked the 80:20 Question -- "talk to me about priorities, how do I get 80% of the benefit of your system with less than 20% of the investment?" My goal is to keep the audio investment under $3K. He said the most important and impactful purchase for your rig is going to be the Mosconi 4to6 Digital Signal Processor, this DSP will change everything. it will make an ok system sound big, plush and blow you away. and a good, powerful Amp will get you on your way. So my first mod is nicely ordered this week.

So here is the $2k worth of goodness I ordered this week:
Mosconi 4to6 DSP
Arc Amp 1100 watts
Masconi mini controller
Focal 165s 6.5s 2 way component kit speakers
JL 10" TW3 Sub

I am going to skip the rear speakers for now, cost. but I will keep you guys posted on the build and will give a full review of the Mosconi.

I didn't understand half of what you said..........but I do like good, clean, crisp music. Kinda amazing the difference between my 2015 CM sound system and my wife's 2013 Mercedes E350. Night and day ! But I guess that's part of paying for a Mercedes. Good luck with all and post pics of the install if possible.

 

DSPs do make a huge difference. I've got an audiocontrol on order, which is the last piece of the puzzle before getting it all installed. 10TW3 is a good sub for a good price; I've got 2 of them going in, along with Alpine Type R front and rear, all powered by JL 1000W

@CM-LENNY , yeah, get what you pay for. I wish Toyota would offer the Mark Levinson stereo in some of the higher trimmed cars from the Lexus. It may not be the best when compared to some of the other "high end" stereos from other cars, but if my Tundra had the stereo from my wife's Lexus in it, I would have been content not to spend $$ upgrading it

 

I've been looking into upgrading stereo components as well. They're a very important piece to having a nice vehicle in my opinion.

Just curious as to if anyone knows the actual factory specs of our head unit in the 16s? Or where I might could find it?
