I took my wheels off and did two layers on the inside barrel so it does look cheap from the outside.

Have a 2018 1794 in black. Thinking about doing my wheels and the brushed steel part of the running boards in a darker grey. Not the plastic step parts, just the metal part.

Question for this who have done their wheels and have hone put new tires on them. Did they get messed up when the tires were put on? If you sprayed the lugs, did those get messed up?

    Thanks.

Badges and wheels. Did the gold most recent and the dark brass/gray a few months ago. Have had zero issues with it thus far

I had a bright blue plastic paint, much lighter than my trucks color so I used that to paint the center cap emblems then dusted some dip on top to tone it down. Came out better than I thought. I was pretty sure id have to just dip them black but I lucked out. They actually appear much more blue in the pic

    Lost track after #1.
I've plasti-dipped interior trim, badges, wheels, bumpers and body panels. It's a decent, temporary solution, but I won't use it for anything beyond that.

Dipped the taillights and third brake light. Came out really smooth an glossy. Just a little dark.20190630_052720.jpg 20190630_052708.jpg

Do you have a DIY for this? I know I can just tape off everything and go to town but was wondering if a plastic-trim-removal option would be faster/easier...

    None YET
You may have already done your wheels but I'll put this here for reference:

When I did my Tacoma, I ordered a kit from dipyourcar.com that comes with pre-dip spray cleaner and a bottle of "dip release". So what you do is, after cleaning and before painting, wipe the dip release on face of tire, after each coat of paint on the wheel, just spray a coat around the face of the tire as well. When you're done, it just peels / wipes right off. I removed my wheels FYI. Makes it easier IMO to clean inside out, etc.

Bumping this thread. I’m about to debadge everything but the 5.7 emblem and plastidip it as well as my wife’s 4Runner emblems.

I’m also going to Dip her SR5 wheels as a test run to see if I want to do mine. I have stock TSS 20” wheels on my tundra and they have an impossible layer of white haze that I cannot get off. I figure pastidip will be a good alternative with a worst case scenario having to have them powder coated eventually

Would like to plasti-dip that plastic piece at the cowl the windshield wipers rest on. Its faded all to crap on my truck, but I'm short and can't see it from the ground, can't see it from the driver's seat. Still drives me nuts when I wash the truck though. Probably will live with it though, as it looks like a bit of a PITA to remove that plastic part with the hood on the truck, no real way to get a spray can in there either. Going to repaint(spray paint) my wiper arms though, so will look into removing that part while I'm there if it isn't a total PITA.
