I recently purchased a 2020 Tundra SR5 SX. It has the normal black mirrors on it (heated, power adjustable, non power fold, no turn signal). I was wondering if its possible to add factory OEM tow mirrors to it, and if they're plug and play? I've heard some people say that these trucks are all wired the same, meaning that the turn signal would work even though my current mirrors don't have it. I'm unsure if this is true, and this is my first Toyota. The part numbers I would use are 87910-0C221 and 87940-0C221. Any help or info would be appreciated!

Yes, you can purchase and install the OEM tow mirrors and the power adjust mirror and heat feature will work. The clearance light and turn signal on the outer edge of the tow mirror will also work. I purchased the power fold OEM tow mirrors and installed them on my 2020 SR5 and they work fine. The power fold function will work once I get the harness from @KTJO 4x4 . She's finalizing the harnesses now.

The part numbers you listed look correct. And yes, you just remove the hold mirror, install the new mirrors and then plug your mirror harness into the new mirrors. There's nothing to do aside from that, unless you want to purchase the power fold version, which are almost twice as much, and then get the harness from KTJO 4x4 when it's available.

Do you have to buy the power fold mirrors to have the turn signal/running lights as well as the power adjustments and heat to work? Or can you buy the non power fold? Also does it work with the blind spot monitor and all the Toyota Safety Sense stuff? Just plug and play? And does the fact that your truck is a TRD and my truck is an SX change anything?

You only need the power fold mirrors if you want the power fold feature, but you will have to buy the aftermarket harness (when it’s available) to get the power fold to work. Only Platinum and 1794 models have factory power fold. The rest of the features work with your truck when you plug the mirrors in. Keep in mind, though, that the Toyota tow mirrors do not have the BSM feature. There is a way around that, however you will have to buy and install LEDs in the truck and wire them into the mirror harness.

I’m not familiar with the SX, but your truck is an SR5, right? If you have BSM, then it sounds like your truck is similar to mine. Mine is the SR5 with TRD Off Road pkg.

Oh so the blind spot monitors won't work if I get the Toyota factory tow mirrors? And yes its an SR5. The SX package is just an appearance package more than anything

There are no blind spot monitors on the OEM tow mirrors. If you want to maintain those, you will need to buy the aftermarket tow mirrors, or install the LEDs. If you do OEM tow mirrors, you will have to turn BSM off, otherwise you will get an error message.

I installed LEDs and wired them in, so my BSM works. The LEDs are inside the truck now, not in the mirrors.

You can add an LED in line (in place of the indicator on the factory mirror glass) in the sail panel.

Does the SX have BSM? My base SR5 doesn't and, like the OP said, SX is just an appearance package.

Come to think of it I'm not sure it does. It has Toyota Safety Sense P: Pre-Collision System w/ Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beams. How would I know if it has blind spot monitors?

That sounds like everything mine has. The only thing I can think of is if you have BSM, you should have little yellow lights somewhere in or near the mirrors.

I don't see any lights or anything obvious. I'll wait to see if @chrisbusnut chimes in and can inform me where to look. Does your truck have BSM @Cpl_Punishment?

It does not. Not a feature I was interested in, especially if it costs extra.

@2020SX , if your truck has BSM, you'll see green "BSM" and "RCTA" lights on your dash. You would also have parking sensors in your front and rear bumpers, and then the little icons with LEDs behind them in (I think) the top left hand corner of the driver's mirror/right top corner of the passenger mirror. Those light up when you're driving and someone approaches in your blind spot.

If you don't have the parking sensors, which are obvious on the truck (front and rear bumper), then you most likely don't have BSM and don't need to worry about it. If that's the case, then the tow mirrors should have no impact on your TSS.

It doesn't have parking sensors in the front or rear bumpers and there's no lights on the mirrors that I can see. So in that case, if I buy those part numbers I posted above, in theory I should be able to plug them in and mount them with no modification and have the heat, power adjustment, and turn signal, parking lights work? Is that correct? Assuming LDA is different than BSM

That's correct. Plug and play. The clearance light and blinkers will work, as will heat and power adjustment. You just don't have wiring for dimming, power fold (both Platinum and 1794 features) or BSM.

Okay sweet. I don't really mind that they're not power fold or dimming. Just as long as they're plug and play and that the heat, power adjust, and turn/marker lights work is without modification is all im looking for

Thanks, @chrisbusnut! While I'm not the OP, I'm also interested in this mod and will probably do it when I start shopping for a travel trailer.

The thing thats making this so confusing for me is that I asked Micah from Sparks Toyota if they would fit and he said "They will bolt on and plug in without an issue, but if you are not wired for all of the features they may not work. Most of the new trucks are not wired for the running lights and turn signals."

    .

If that's the case, then I'm not aware of it. My understanding is that all trucks are wired for the clearance lights and turn signals in the tow mirrors.

You might want to check with @Roman at Cool Springs Toyota. That's where I get all of my parts.

Since I've been considering this same mirror change on my 2019 SR5, I'm curious what the "stick-out" distance is on the tow mirrors when they're not fully extended. I keep thinking I'll see a set of tow mirrors on another Tundra and I'll measure how far out from the truck body they are. So far I haven't seen one parked where I could check the mirror with a tape measure. My stock mirrors leave me just a few inches to spare on each side of my garage door opening.
For you folks that have the tow mirrors, is the outside edge further away from the truck body than on the stock mirrors?

I have OEM tow mirrors. If you measure from the window they stick out 15.25", and that accounts for the marker light. They fold in to about 6.25".

Thank you for the measurement. I appreciate it! :)
The stock mirrors are just a squeak over 14 inches, straight out from the glass. It looks like I'll gain about an inch and a quarter on each side.
I can live with that. I should get my order in to Roman before the end of the month. I think they are still offering free shipping until the end of April.

Do these mirrors extend out for towing and slide back in for regular driving? What is the length when they are extended?
