I have a 2016 platinum had the Trd exhaust added at the dealer. Was wondering if any of you guys experienced this problem. I am not sure how to describe it other than to say it is like the sound you get when you have one of your windows cracked open.

Hey don't want to hijack your thread but then don't want to post another one about noises. But speaking of noises. I walked out into my garage the other day and the truck wasn't on. Keys in my pocket and there was a noise coming from back where the spare tire is. Like something was running. Electrically. Like a humming noise. I got in and started the truck and turned it off and it stopped. Any ideas?

I'll try and record it tommorow. But def isn't whistling almost sounds like the engine is missing but it runs fine and not throwing and codes. It only has 1400 miles on it going to call the dealer this week.

I'm seriously considering the TRD Dual Exhaust. Did you ever figure out what the strange noise was, or did it just need further breaking in?

I had it back to the dealer they said they didn't find anything but the noise has stopped. I don't think you will be disappointed with the Trd exhaust. If I had to make a guess I would say there was something loose on mine and they just tell me but I don't really care sounds great now.

The TRD exhaust is known to make that chopper sound. And H pipe would cure it. It's because it is a true dual system and no crossover pipe. So at certain RPMs that sound is going to happen. I don't have a TRD exhaust but I hear it on every tundra that has one .

I heard it on mine too. I swear at certain rpm's it sounds like an engine missing a cylinder.

Where would you install the H pipe? Between the pipes coming from the exhaust manifold? Between the pipes right before the mufflers? Between the pipes after the mufflers? Does it matter?

I don't think it really matters but it seems like I've seen them mostly before the mufflers. I'm sure wherever you can fit it, it would help.
