I'm in the market for a new vehicle as my '02 Tahoe has enough issues that it's not worth fixing. While I love the look of the Tundras, the wife has nixed that idea. She has OK'd the Sequoia. So we're in the market for used 2nd Gen Limited. That by itself has been difficult as it appears there aren't many out there. Some things that I really want to do to truck:

2-3" Lift and leveling (to handle a small amount of overland)
    Larger tires/wheels
Front Bumper with winch, light bar, tow rings

The goal with the truck is an occasional weekend hiking trip or camping trip. If I can get the family out camping more often, maybe the lady will see the wisdom in a Tundra :-D

But in my searching, I'm not really finding a lot of bumper mods for the Sequoia, and maybe a few mods for the lift. Is my Google-fu failing me or is this really rare for some reason? It seems like folks are recommending local fab shops for bumpers. Any thoughts on how to proceed? Thanks!

EDIT: Not 3rd gen, 2nd gen.

First no such thing as a 3rd gen Sequoia just 1st and 2nd Gens even the 2020 version is still a 2nd gen. You can find a lot of good info on the build thread for Sequoias check out @Jbtaco2002 thread he's got a pretty awesome ride. The front end of the Sequoia is a Tundra front end so parts swap the same if you do a Tundra front bumper you need to do a little work to your valance. A good resource is https://www.1stgenoffroad.com/#/
Great guy to deal with. I have Dobinsons springs in the back of my Sequoia if you go that route I have a set of Dobinsons shocks that goes with those springs I would be willing to sell you for $100 TYD that's some savings for you. I only bought them to hold me over for a month while my Fox's were being built. I really dig my Sequoia, let me know if I can help you any further. Here's mine.

Just noticed you live in Castle Rock. I'm going to try to drive the beast out for the opening of Elk Archery at the end of Aug and my sister lives in Castle Rock maybe we can arrange for you to look at the vehicle up close. I will have an RTT mounted on top as well.

Thanks guys @Jbtaco2002 rig was definitely an inspiration, I'm rolling on Method 701's with 285 75 17 Open Country AT2 Extreme about 34". I put my super charger off my other Tundra on this one so looks cool, rides great and it's fast, I'm really digging it. My two projects.

Totally agree with Adam. That Sequoia is sweet brother. We’re on our second one, but they’re pretty much just the wife’s daily driver, so no real mods necessary. Outside of getting some wheels and stereo upgrades for the new one, it’ll be left alone.
She almost got black, but thank god she didn’t. I’d have died trying to keep it clean.

Thanks for the answers, all! @Bo-Hunter that is a great looking truck! That's pretty much what I'm going for, plus a front bumper, which appears to be the hard part. MAN, that 'Quoia is tall! Over 7'?

Question on the 1st Gen Off Road site, I'm seeing only one bull bar. This goes back to my original question, it looks like there's no mass-produced bumper, which would mean a custom?

No you can put a tundra bumper on you just will need to modify the valance so there is no gap.

Modify the valance by cutting it? I suppose that's not too bad as when I sell the car in many years, I wouldn't want to keep that bumper around for that long. Wife wouldn't be happy!

That’s what @Jbtaco2002 did and it looks awesome also check out Mo Sequoia build on IH8MUD forum, he put an ICI magnum bumper on his sequoia then replaced his sequoia grille with a gen 2 tundra grille and it turned out awesome as well

My 17 sequoia needs a 38 gal tank. Did Toyota start putting them in the 18’s?

Thanks Warren I love that thing too. I was hoping to already have it out there but soon. My new goal trying to make baja this fall. Sequoia was an impulse buy, was kind of thinking about it, found this low mileage 2014 up in New York next thing I know I’m a Sequoia owner lol.

The Sequoia is definitely a nice addition to your quiver. Love the wheels w/o the fake beadlock bolts. Hopefully I'll see ya in Baja.

@Bo-Hunter that sounds awesome. You're riding on 35s? What's the total height of your rig? My garage opening, including door, is 6'9". Curious if the 35's and lift would fit. Thanks!

How are the 2003 sequoia's for converting into overlanding vehicles? I am starting to seriously consider picking one up since it has the space that i need for myself, the wife, and 3 dogs.

Just purchased a 2014 Sequioa Platinum 4x4 Flex Fuel on March 30. It's black with grey leather interior. Haven't done much to it yet, other than fixing stuff that was broken on it. But I got a heck of a deal on it, so I can fix a few things.

I have de-badged it and upgraded the interior bulbs to LED. The visor vanities were stupid. Not too many people modify Sequoias, so there's no videos on YouTube on how to do it. It's pretty difficult to find information on how to change the old style Halogen headlights to the 2018 and newer LED headlights. No aftermarket tail lights, either. Heck, no X-Act Contour Husky Liners either. I was able to obtain a center console organizer for it and a tray that gives me more organized center console storage.

    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B015S49S1E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D3F1HWC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If anyone needs links to the LED bulbs for the interior, just let me know.

Lots more mods to do. Lots of parts from the TRD Sport including the LED headlights, wheels, sway bars, and badges. Need an exhaust with a Flowmaster 50. Need to replace the chrome mirror caps and door handles with black. Need to do something with that chrome grille. Need to do something with the Name Plate over the rear license plate as it's also chrome and gray. Anyone ever lowered one of these? Not having much luck finding a lowering kit.

My end goal is not overlanding or rock crawling. This is a street machine and I'm leaning toward lowering it 1 or 2 inches and maybe supercharging it. Rather than monster truck, I'm thinking that it would make a great Dodge Durango but with Toyota quality and reliability. Believe me, this isn't the biggest reason that people think I'm weird. It's not even in the top 10 reasons.

That's a really nice looking tree. I picked up a 2019 TRD Sport a few weeks ago and am planning on using the Dobinson springs for a lift as well. What did you think of the Dobinson's shocks? And which Fox shocks did you switch to?
    Thanks.
