    I'm not looking for a band-aid. I do see the appeal of a bandaid though. That might hold me over until I get my shop built. A lift would make things super nice.

    Husky as in husky tools, or is that just a coincidence :rofl:?

    I haven't googled a spring repair shop yet, but any other suggestions are welcome. I have only been awake for 30 or so minutes.

    You'll need one of those in 14mm for headers. The swivel head makes life better.

    I wouldn't waste any money on add-a-leaf's. I did it, and I regret it. Just buy new leaf packs if yours are shot. General is an option in addition to the Husky brand Fester mentioned.

    I've abandoned lung tube headers. I may suck it up and do short tube headers eventually.

    This is good advice. I was happy I had it when I did mine. Also, I hit everything with kroil a couple days prior.

    A truck as old as yours (or mine for that matter, 2006) even if it hasn't regularly carried heavy loads or towed much, is going to have tired springs. I wanted to go with a new set of leafs for my suspension, but when I was ready to buy, Archive Garage announced their new springs

    which is what I really wanted....but I didn't want to wait, so in the interim I did my full suspension but instead of new leaf packs, I went with the Wheelers AAL. Wheelers suggest to leave your oem overload leaf out and you will get 1-1.5 inches in increased height and improved ride, with no real increase in load carrying capacity. I have a shell on my truck, so I left my overload leaf in and got about 1.5 inches of lift, but the leaves don't have as much arch as I'd like, but they are not completely flat. If I add anymore weight (which I plan on doing at some point for a camper build-out and possibly a bumper), I will need a new leaf pack and I'm leaning towards the Archive Garage Shackleton pack pending a few reviews in the not so distant future.

    Here is my right rear leaf pack with the Wheeler's AAL and OEM overload left in:

    If you don't want to spend much, are not planning on adding weight and aren't looking to get much lift, the Wheelers AAL minus your overload leaf is a good way to freshen up your ride...if you want that full 1.5 inch lift, leave the overload leaf in. If you are just looking for straight-up stock replacement springs at a good price, General Springs has a decent reputation and Wheelers recommends them as OEM replacements.

    I believe @MDobb79 bought General Springs, so maybe he can chime in if he sees this or you can reach out to him.

    Other options are Alcan, Atlas, Deaver off the top of my head, but they will be more money as they are considered more of an upgrade from OEM rather than a stock replacement. Good Luck

    I forgot who recently posted about extending the rear diff breather. What kind of tubing is good for doing that mod? Is that all you need to do this? Thanks!

    Yeah I saw that. I plan I’m going to 2.5s since my 2.0s get super hot during summer trail runs.

    I guess I’d have to get some of the deeper axle tabs and mount them a tad lower to fit that extra 2” fully collapsed.

    I’ve got my research going for all the variety of shocks out there for the most part.

    This thread will help. It has part numbers too. I believe most of used 3/8" hose.
    edit- I actually don't remember what size I used. Timmy the Tool Man has a video and he used 5/16", claims it fit better.

    All depends on your leaf and shock combo. I’ve got a full Deaver leaf pack and icon 2.0s. My icons are about 8” stroke. That is the limiting factor of my rear travel. If I get longer shocks (and extend my brake line) I can get more drool from my leaf pack. With the relocation kit and 12” travel shocks Eric is claiming 12”+ which would be a nice improvement over my 8” and a great performance improvement going with 2.5s over 2.0s....

    I did the 3 leaf AAL, but ended up replacing my leaf springs. Based on the flatness of your passenger leaf, you wouldn't be happy with an add a leaf, just replace the set. If you do eventually want a lift, then now's the time to decide. You can get new leaf packs and install the AAL or go custom (alcan, atlas, deaver, etc...)

    Those archives are heavy duty. It's either a stock replacement, or an upgrade for increased bed cargo. I do odd jobs around the house, and never know what I'll be hauling. As of right now I've hauled several tons of rock in my bed (not at once obviously) couple loads of rail road ties, and other things I can't remember right now

    Wait, I constantly smell toast. It only calms down when I drink myself retarded on the weekend...

    I clicked that link to find some factory replacement leafs. I went to bookmark it but it was already marked. I've been slacking bad on my truck. I'm sure you guys need some more comedy relief on seeing me mangle my shit! :D

    LOL...I think you're right.

    When I had the shop install the AAL I told the owner to remove the overload, per Wheeler's instructions...we went out and looked at my springs together and he said they looked a little flat to him and that he would recommend leaving the OL in so I said whatever he thought was best since he does these all the time so at that point I just ASSumed he was going to leave it in...I never actually looked at it and counted the springs when I got it back, so yea, it looks like it was left out. The funny part is I spent a bunch of time crawling under the front to look at the new shocks, LBJs and UCAs when I got it back, but I barely looked at the rear and didn't even notice it in these pics either. Hilarious. That does explain why it rides so well....I expected it to be really hard if he left the OL in but it felt good after I got it back...I guess that shoulda been a clue to inspect it a little better...:rofl:

    In his defense, he's the owner...he has a guy that is his Toyota Truck/SUV specialist who does 99% of the work on Toyota trucks/suvs in his shop (they do a TON of work on the Toyota trucks/suvs in this area). I assume the specialist made the final call...and it seems to have worked out...I can't complain and am very happy with them as a shop. It is a good lesson in paying better attention on my part though...:thumbsup:

    No slack in the brake cables, they should be fairly tight.
    Those are just the dust shields on the shocks. Not saying they aren't bad anyway but functionally those don't do much.

    Those appear to be the dust boots for your shocks. That's just cosmetic. My rear shocks don't even have those. As for the ebrake cable, how does it feel when you press the ebrake? There is a turnbuckle under the driver side door you can adjust that will help a lot.

    Your frame looks dirty, not rusty. I bet if you cleaned it up you would find little rust. I only see a little bit of flaking below.

    After crawling around I have more issues than I thought.
    Starting on drivers side. How much slack is supposed to be in my E-brake cables?

    This truck was sold in Hopkinsville Kentucky, and has been local for 18 years. I myself have only been to a SALTY region once. I drove my ex to Virginia for a week. I have always went through a carwash with undersprayers daily when there is salt on the roads.

    I'm assuming from what I've read that the 5(4/1) is the leaf count.

    I added in because I forgot, but I reached out to Alcan to see what they had to offer. I read up on their process, and some of @Rex Kramer's old posts from 2018, and @speedtre's post. Looks like a good product also. I am thinking that I will regret not going about it correctly now ergo creating more work later.

    Maybe one of these days in a few years I can be one of you all. Helping out a guy like me right now... Lol
