iDatalink Maestro Kenwood Connections

I purchased the Maestro paired with a Kenwood DMX906s. On the Maestro wiring diagram it doesn’t give clear instructions. only shows up with a pioneer stereo. I’m a little confused on the rca aux inputs since there is no aux input on the back of the radio. Do I just use an rca to aux adapter and plug it into the av-in? Also, there are two connection points for the Maestro(the 4-pin connector and a 3.5mm jack)but the instructions just show the 4-pin. Again though, it’s shows a pioneer in the diagram, which only has the 4-pin. I would imagine I would hook both up? If anyone has any information on this I would greatly appreciate it!

 

You don't use the 3.5mm jack at all.
You only use the 4 pin.
The AUX in the dash won't work anymore.
The only yellow RCA you hook up is the backup camera.

You can connect your phone wirelessly, thru Bluetooth, or thru the USB.
Make sure you have the Toyota USB adapter to use the USB in the dash to your HU.

If you don't know, you can flash the Maestro yourself as long you have a cable to connect it to your computer.
It is some kind of common mini USB.

If you flash it yourself you can choose specific functions of the steering wheel buttons.
I have the same HU and the only thing I don't like about it is, you cannot use the steering wheel buttons to go thru the XM presets.
You can either change the channel, or switch preset banks (of 6 stations).
My Pioneer I could select the presets up and down in order.

 

The only yellow RCA you will connect is the backup camera, unless you have a dash cam or headrest screens, etc...
The AV IN 3.5mm jack of the HU is not used.
The AUX IN RCAs of the Maestro are INPUTS into the Maestro, for the OUTPUTS of your HU.



You can see only the 4 pin connector is used.
