I just noticed that the Ivan stewart 2002 tundra model had fender flares more similar to the tacomas. They look less bubbly than the standard ones.

BC2E8206-E6D9-4620-9104-05B45D387C36.jpg Do you even vent?! A big water heater “let go” last night at work. We replaced the ancient boiler type water heaters with 6 tankless units, all manifolded together and ready to rock with mostly single point connection except the exhaust vent. I only got one pic, we were all kicking ass to get it done(haha only one person living in the dorm due to circumstances) but they have hot water!

I ran the vent for our new boiler... man that thing was a pain in the ass to find a home for thanks to code.

Stupid “code” what do they know. Supposedly here in Az you need a permit to change a toilet!!!!!?
I know the inspector of my house for purchase missed a lot of stuff that wasn’t “code” I’ll be here for a while so I don’t care, I’m sure I’ll do some non code worthy things in that time:)

Luckily we know people to get things passed through. But me and my father plumbed up the whole boiler and indirect water heater... that was a fun project what with both our perfectionism.

Haha I bet, I had to look up what a indirect water heater was, basically another heat exchanger that uses the boiler to heat it. What about the summer when the boiler isn’t on? Let’s see pics! We have real simple stuff out here, but I always see crazy boiler walls with all kinds of loops and bypasses and pumps, from my Hvac group of dudes back east

the boiler took over the job of 2 water heaters. one for radiant and one for domestic water. Its setup to kick on whenever the indirect is below a certain temp.. works well and the money savings so far have been astronomical (and the garage stays 70 all winter unlike 55 before..)

Ummm dude!!! Nioce!!!!!! That looks super clean! Is your pops a plumber? All of your solder joints looks clean AF! Is it code to have drains or reliefs on shark bites? Hah that’s the only thing out of place on this masterpiece. Again I don’t know a lot of what’s going on there, but I know clean work! Also, maybe insulate those bulb sensors that are zip tied to the pipes? We always insulate expansion valve bulbs, to get the best surface contact and less atmospheric interference (40-10 degree walkin coolers)

theyre insulated most of the time.. i actually was just messing around with it yesturday seeing how everything was holding up. he is not a plumber. hes maintenance at a factory.. does a little bit of everything. but it runs in the family. we all kinda dabble in everything. We set it up so that it can be easily removed in sections or w/e to repair or add extra zones.

    Ha! I actually need two.
I'd rather change the wheels than spend money on hub caps. These wheels are the most haggard wheels I've ever owned. Paint peeling off in huge scabs and the aluminum underneath is oxidized like heavy white rust. Leveling, wheels, and tires for the Tundra are near the top of the list once the Pcar can haul my ass to work and back. (sometime this summer...I hope)

Half of the shit noted on my house inspection was stuff the inspector missed and I pointed out to him. Water heater in my garage had aluminumized tape as an elbow on the vent. o_O not to mention from the heater to that "elbow" the grade went down not up.

That's some nice pipe work. Is that a hot water re-circ pump that I spy? One of the best investments in comfort and usability out there. It is always on my list when I build anew house or remodel one. Instant hot water at all faucets...:bananadance:

Tell me about this P-car, and let's see some pics.

I used to spend a lot of weekends doing track time at Putnam Park in your neck of the woods. In both my 968 and 964. I don't miss much about my time in the midwest, but that is definitely at the top of the list.

Why yes it is. The check valve is a bit small though so it jackhammers occasionally.. have to fix that soon. But it’s not all the time. The recirc line has been in the house since new. But no pump. The pump took me from a minute or 2 for hot water upstairs to less than 20 seconds. And before I had time to finish it I just plugged it off. Took and excruciating 5-8 minutes for hot water to get upstairs. (House is 2850 sq ft not counting the basement. So it has a bit of distance to travel)

This virus stuff has been eating my vacation time up for me to keep a above 400 dollar pay check. Now its looking like I won’t have vacation time left to do my road trip to San Fran/Lake Tahoe this summer to pickup all those frames with the tundra.

Basically because you don’t have any incoming work at the dealership? That sucks man. Maybe look around for some side work installing parts?

It's a 79SC that was basically a barn find. My friend rescued it from craigslist ~4 years ago for a steal. He wasn't sure if he wanted to save/flip it, so it languished for a year and a half. In that year and a half, I finished my LS e36 M3, drove it, and sold it...to buy the 911. I loved the M3 so hard. But the 911 was/is my dream car, so I did what I had to do. I got raped a bit on the purchase price, but it's been in my garage since 12/20/17.
I have a [somewhat huge] build thread on the Pelican Parts forum. I'll drop a link here. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/989493-my-low-budget-dream-car-build.html

The gist of it is this:
The car sat in a shipping container for nearly a decade after some degenerate inherited it from his father and promptly started dismantling it for paint.
I've sanded off the [majority of the] red paint, applied grey epoxy primer, rebuilt the top end, added EFI & ITBs, deleted the sunroof, and removed a couple hundred pounds of not-important. I'm nearing my first start attempt...hopefully in the next week or three.

Forgive the hideous scab in the middle of the passenger side rear quarter. A year after I epoxied the car, I found a crack in the epoxy and a thumbnail lifted off that huge, baseball size scab of bondo I didn't even know was there. You can't feel any distortion on the inside of that panel. IDKWTF the PO was thinking. But I still may turbo-body the car, so I'm not too worried about it right now. At least I know it's not rusting.

If you have a quarantine to fill with many hours of reading, jump on over to Pelican and you can read the whole sordid tale.
