    Hello guys
I have a 2007 Tundra 4.7L sitting on my driveway right now with a really frustrating issue. I've been having this pesky "P0415 Secondary Air Injection System Switching Valve "B" Circuit" code for a while and recently decided to perform the needed repairs. I've replaced both air pumps (air pump under the intake manifold), hoses, and both check valves due to other codes present at the time along with the P0415 (can't recall which but they're gone now). All the replaced parts had contamination within them. All hoses were blown through with pressurized air to confirm no obstructions were present. Wiring didn't have obvious damage and wiggle test doesn't affect the code as well. I had battery disconnected for approximately two days while I was performing the repairs. When ever I finished my work I ran the automatic secondary air inj test from my scanner and the scanner finished with no codes present. Therefore I took my truck for a test drive and drove 25 miles and no check engine came on. The next day while I was heading for work the damn check engine light came back up. The scanner read the code P0415 and when I attempt to clear it the light immediately comes the fuck up. I attempted to run the automated test again and now it won't even finish it due to the code. I've observed code "C1201 Engine Control System" Fault as well. My research led me to believe that this code is due to the check engine light relating to the DTC. I've been keeping my interest on the control drivers (two modules by the engine relay box). I'm very hesitant to replace them due to each of them being over 200 dollars when there's two of them. There seems to be no specific way to test them through my scanner (Snap On Soleus). I've tried to criss cross the modules connectors but each module is unique to its connector. I've been thinking about literally grinding off the guides but I'd rather leave that as a last resort. What the hell do I do? I also don't want a bypass kit. I want to fix this.

Welcome to Toyota taking care of their customers. I have a 2012 4.6l that has the P0415 with the check engine lite on. I am mad with Toyota I never had this issue with me Chevy. Bypass may be the only way too unless you want to pay the dealership $3000

I bought the alldatadiy for 20 bucks. P0415 diagnostic procedures led to the confirmation of a defective air control driver. Provided are specific testing ports within the harness, which suggests the harness condition. Additionally it includes instruction for oscilloscope set up. Confirming the diagnosis. I fix my shit lol

Question on your 07. Was one of the air pumps located in the passenger side fender well and the check valves on either side of the engine?

Hello Tundro 07... any update on your repair? I’m getting both the codes you are talking about p0415 and C1201 and I have no clue how to proceed. I am also trying to avoid using the bypass kit

Not trying to stir the pot, but what's the reasoning behind not using the kit?

Having ridden many Japanese motorcycles over the years, those block off plates were incredibly familiar. I've installed at least five sets on various bikes over the years to bypass the same system on those engines. Fortunately bikes aren't as picky and the plates by themselves are all that was necessary. The first thing I did to my new to me truck was to install that bypass kit.

If you search for the AIP someone has repaired it... only one I've seen done that way, it's about 20 pages long.. c1201 is a different issue, if you search it here you can find your answers.

Thanks for your response. I can probably be convinced to install the kit but it is $400 and made for off road use only (according to Hewitt) So I worry it is just a Band-Aid and no guarantees to pass emissions

You may pass emissions but not inspection.

This is for legal reasons since technically you are defeating emissions. When you install the kit, put black 1/8" tech flex over the purple wire and run it through the factory wire clips so it's invisible.

2008 toyota tundra 5.7, 104,000 miles. I got a p0415 code. I replaced both pumps and the switching valves. Also replaced the battery and fuel cap. All fuses, including the main fusable link, and all check good with 12+ volts to each side. Now I am getting a p0415 and p0418. After warming the truck and clearing the codes the truck has never run better. If I jump the pumps and valves directly to the battery they run fine. I am aware of the bypass kits but would prefer not use. Any ideas on what this could be? My only thought is maybe the AIP driver. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hey if you read the fix from Tundro he replaced the B driver to fix that code p0415... I first did that and the problem didn’t go away until I replaced the switching valves.

Secondary Air Injection System Bypass Kit
Many valid points were made in this thread. I wanted to provide some additional resources for future readers. Yes, the P0415 is an error codes indicating issues with Bank #2 Air Switching Valve circuit. One of the more rare Secondary Air Injection codes but can pop up. This circuit can fail and would need the Air Switching Valve replaced or as many recommended the HT Bypass Kit. We also commonly see this code when aftermarket parts are used to repair SAIS faults. These parts are cheap for a reason and cannot stress enough aftermarket parts are not a long term solution and will cost you more in the long run. If anyone has questions about the Bypass Kit do not hesitate to contact me. Below I have included link to a thread that dives deeper into SAIS error codes.
