    Hey Fellas,
I'm looking at cutting/dumping my OEM exhaust on my 2019 Tundra behind the Axle after the last hanger . I have a single exhaust. It's not a TRD exhaust. Has anyone done it and how will it sound be like?

My stock (single) exhaust is dumped after the last hanger. I didn’t notice any change in sound or drone.

Nothing will happen, you need to change the muffler if you want a sound change.

    Thanks Fellas.
@sr5shark and @Rex Kramer , What is the pros and cons on dumping it? For me, I'm doing it because I hate the look of the one pipe sticking out . I haven't seen it personally cut, but I think it looks cleaner from the back without it. What do you think?

I have the single exhaust on a 2019 TRD Offroad. I almost pulled the trigger on the TRD dual Exhaust and dumping it after the last hangar. I did not move forward with that because, 1st, I would be wasting money because cutting the TRD Exhaust will be stupid because they are not cheap and 2nd. if I keep it the way it is, I hear that I will lose low end torque. I can't make a decision. Some guys on this forum say they love the TRD dual exhaust and they did not feel like they lost any torque and some do.

@sr5shark and @Rex Kramer, Do you like the look of dumping it better than OEM? Does it look cleaner from the sides and back ?

I lowered the rear of my truck, so I had no choice.
That all being said, I do like the lack of tail pipe look.

Cleaner look, out of the way when you off road and if you get longer shackles it may hit the exhaust i think trd exhaust might be in the way can’t recall. Make sure you paint the end after you cut it to prevent rust.

Ok, Cool. That's what I thought . I love the cleaner look. What would you paint it with? Just the edge you mean?

Should I cut it while on the truck or remove it?

I cut my exhaust for better clearance offroad. (Before cutting I would drag my tailpipe across rocks.) I chose dump after the last hanger because I did not want any exhaust coming back into the cab. Eventually I will replace my stock muffler with something louder - hopefully I'll find a deal on a used TRD dual setup because you are correct, these are really expensive to buy new and then cut up.

I marked where I wanted to cut, and then removed the tail pipe to cut it.

I marked where to cut while on the truck and then I removed it to cut so I was able to get it close to the hanger. If you cut wile on the truck I suggest removing the spare tire to give yourself more room.

If you ever buy the TRD Exhaust, you would also cut it? Is it true that you lose low end torque with the TRD Exhaust ? Lot of guys here recommend Dirtydeeds. Would you go that route or TRD?

I prefer the sound of the TRD system so this is what I'll be going with. I'll probably dump the exhaust after the muffler unless I find a great deal on the either system in which case I would likely cut the pipes after the rear hangers. For my setup it is more about the clearance offroad than the aesthetics (although I do like the symmetry of pipes on both sides of the truck rather than just on one side.) As for the loss of torque, I am running 35's with stock gears so I'm not too worried about losing a little more torque. :D

The TRD exhaust came on my truck new. I didn’t like the look exhaust pipes that exited behind the tire.
The Trd muffler was too quiet for my taste so I switched mufflers and cut the pipes behind the axle for more of a clean look. I saved the trd tips and welded them on. Doing this behind the axle dumped cut the drone I was having between 60-70. Pleased with the sound now and look. ED61D008-3C6F-4210-8DBB-3EC4091AEA25.jpg

I hear that if you are Offroading and you have your exhaust dumped, it gets pretty dusty from throwning dirt? Have you experienced such thing ?

Dude I completely agree I have a xpipe and dual magnaflows with turn down tips welded to em and going up a hill it’s obnoxious. But I absolutely love how it sounds when I’m on it. Don’t know what to do about the drone luckily I’m locale to SoCal and might stop into @dirtydeeds and rack his brain on somethings.

I haven’t experienced any negatives with the way my exhaust is done, only positives. I like the cleaner look in the back, the bad drone I was having from 60-70 is now gone and it sounds great.
