As everyone knows our trucks have had infamous “rusting” frame issues. While many of us don’t, we experience the dusty rustiness which I have on certain parts, primarily the front undercarriage below the engine. Anyone got something? I saw mixing vinegar with 2 to 3 parts water and spraying it is effective.

I found this found this: https://www.carbibles.com/best-rust-remover/

In most cases, you have to remove the rusty part, and with a rust remover and then some elbow grease. After the rust is gone, you will have to prime and paint. I have used rust-oleum professional spray paint which I purchased from Home Depot. From the pics, some parts may need replacement. The body parts with paint may need a body shop. But my guess is the color will be hard to match. Others may want to chime in.

Small handheld sandblaster will work alright without removing base material.

For the belly pan and the bumper support, I'd use Ospho -- available at any building supply or hardware store -- or on Amazon. It's phosphoric acid. Brush it on, and it chemically converts the rust to a black hard surface. You can top-coat it or not.

Ive used that stuff on old musclecars...does work well. Top coat it with a good rattlecan paint.

I believe it's UV stable. So if you like/don't mind the flat black look (which I think is perfect for these two applications) you can just leave it.

Gonna be doing couple O2 sensors this morning, plan on picking up Ospho at Home Depot and trying you guys on this. Any specifics for application/drying? From what I see this stuff turns the rusting into a black and also white color? Do you just leave it on or?
