CustomSpeakerPods - Dual 6.5” Pods in Each Front Door

I decided to give this company a try. Not expensive by any means considering what a custom fiberglassed set of kick panels or door pods would be.

I should be receiving them shortly. Once I do, I’ll post pics and show the installation process. Plus I’ll have video clips of them in action.

BTW, I’ll be using 2 sets of JL Audio C2-650X’s in the front doors.

Pods arrived today. Look great. Fitment is top notch. Speakers arrive tomorrow.

They would be a little bit much for my taste, do you have a profile pic showing how much the stick out?

So are you going to have to cut out much material for the speaker depth? or is there already enough space?

 

Theyre mounting C2-650s, so yeah there will be cutting. I had the C2-690tx and they had a rather large magnet.

 

At first I thought, "Oh God no", but after seeing them, I'm intrigued.

IMO the mounting is going to look tacky. A molded door panel would look alot better.

 

Finally got them installed. Just need to retune the eq. I’ll do the adjustments sometime tomorrow.

oh and I went with Skar Audio FSX65’s and a set of VX200-ST’s. Ear piercing highs lol. Now, whenever I redo my subs, mids & highs definitely won’t be a concern. The subs will be from Skar Audio too. That’s another topic for another day.

As far as the install, yes I had cut basically where the 6.5’s fit for clearance and of course I did for the tweeters. Wasn’t a big deal for me as this is my work truck and I’m keeping it anyway.

 

No doubt. But this is a work truck. And, I’d rather spend that money in the subs first lol

Oof SPL tweets, but Im guessing you're going for SPL anyway. Nothing a little tuning and attenuation cant fix. Looking forward to seeing it all done.

 

Great option. But it sticks out like a sore thumb. If your happy with it thats all that matters. It would be nice if it matched the texture of the door plastic Black.

Hello, I am looking for a way to add a 2nd door speaker as well. To clarify, did you have to cut for clearance, the sheet metal on the door? Or just plastic door panel? Any photos?
