After trying to convince my wife not to buy a new Yukon and did anyway she apologized after she traded it in and saw how far backwards she was in it. While my truck same year same miles hardly dropped in resale after 3 years. Reliably and resale are my two main reasons. It’s an investment so why not get the most out of it when it’s time to let it go? I love money so it’s hard to watch it basically evaporate as much as it does after driving a domestic vehicle off the lot.

only gm id buy is a diesel. But that’s a whole other category on its own.

I tried and tried to get her to get a 4Runner. She went with a Subaru Outback. This was in 2017.....now guess what she wants..... lol they just never listen....I will say the Subaru is a good car performs great up here in the winter and good gas mileage. But I’ve been hearing about a new 4Runner for the last year and half....I’ll break soon lol

If you do plan on getting the Chevy I’d suggest leasing it depending on how much you drive. That way if it’s totally worthless after 3 years you can give it back and start fresh. Also gives you a chance to see how many issues arise during that time before you decide you want to own it.

My wife loves her 4runner. We use it as the family hauler and we've taken several long trips in it where we don't see pavement for hundreds of miles. We tow a little overland trailer with it and occasionally drive it around town. We try not to daily either truck, and are currently looking for a comfortable beater we can run into the ground (30 mile commute 1 way into the city where we both work - we work 3 miles from one another so usually commute together).

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles in it, but it's a goat on trails and very predictable and reliable in snow covered roads.

Looks awesome. She wants army green but I can’t justify spending 50k+ On a pro so I’m waiting till I can get the color on a lower model and build it myself.

Ah, no - but I might start one here. I used to be on 4runners.com but I lost my login credentials in a tragic boating accident.

    Sorry - I apparently can't read.

All good! is a great option, too. They’re a salty bunch at times, but the best build/adventure threads, maintenance info, mods, and all around DIY is over there.

To continue the derail, I'll 2nd the nod to T4R.org (I'm same username over there). A lot of good info in their "sticky" threads to read up on.

Nice Tundra - glad you came to your senses. :thumbsup:Cavalry Blue was a serious contender when I was looking...

If your want to place 4th place in the Olympics(sorry for the Three Days in the Valley reference), go with the GM product. I prefer the gold medal. That's why I finally bought a Tundra. I'm sure the feeling of patriotism will fill your blood until the first time you have to visit the dealership for a typical GM issue. Then a year passes and five visits later, you really question why GM builds such weak products. I have owned several square bodies, and a 95 Caprice 9C1, so I am not just a Toyota trouble maker. However, I think that Toyota figured out awhile back that being reliable is more important that some lame 10 speed auto. Do you really want Ford and GM making a transmission? When bean counters have more pull than engineers, you know that the final product is not going to be a good product.
