Exactly, a diff drop would be the easiest thing to machine! Those and longer grade 8 bolts should be good to go!

After reading this thread - finally pulled the trigger on an OME set up with Dakar springs. Talked with someone at Toytec comparing a full Toytec kit vs the OME set up. With the weight of bumper / winch / skid plates / cap etc... and the fact I carry a lot of stuff in the truck & pull a trailer often, I am now confident that this was the way to go. I won’t be a desert racer, but should be able to handle everything Georgia and Life can throw at me.

I'll give Toytec the big thumbs up! I ordered yesterday morning. Got the shipping notice before the close of business same day! Now tracking my packages as they travel across the country.
I called in and had a few questions before placing my order - phone was picked up after the 3rd ring. Hugo was very helpful making sure I had everything that I needed before placing my order online.

Got my OME 612’s SPC UCA’s with CB 2” shackles installed this weekend and aligned yesterday. I couldn’t be happier with this setup. It rides much better then my leveling kit; which I’m really amazed as I was not expecting that much of a difference. Haven’t done any trails (although the dirty truck would beg to differ) after the install, but the road manners are very noticeable. Gotta give this thread props as the suspensions decisions are a plenty but dollar value of the OME setup I don’t feel like I’ve compromised given the price point for OMEs.

Dirty truck pictures of after install. :anonymous:

How’s the ride in the city with the 612’s torn between OME 612’s and Dobinson’s

I was presently surprised with how well they feel on the road. It’s the only driving I’ve done since getting them installed. The truck feels planted in turns and takes road bumps like pot holes and larger speed bumps really well. To me the biggest difference going from my leveling kit is it feel like suspension is working versus just a jarring feeling.

I will say it was between the OME and Dobinson’s I don’t think you can go wrong with either kit.

This is off of memory; if someone can confirm here or even give Toytec a call. The options make it confusing but the 612s are going to be your lowest lift without the additional bumper or winch but listed for the 4.6 engine. Pretty sure from there its the 614 as the middle option since that's made for the 5.7 and then you have the 613 which is the 5.7 plus bumper and winch.

use the 612 springs if you are staying with the stock bumper and no winch.

    Its what I have.

Does not matter what engine you have.

awesome, thanks for all of the help, this thread was super helpful, I went back and forth and back again, but info and photos made a huge difference
    in making this decision.

    I went with
    Package A:
    This complete kit includes:
    • OME2612 x 1
    • 90018 Nitrocharger Sport Strut x 2
    • CS055R x 2
    • 60100 Nitrocharger Sport Shock x 2
    • FK32 x 1
    • OMEU53B x 4
    • OMESB106 Bushing Kit x 2
    • OMEGS22 Greasable Shackle Kit x1
The best deal I found was with Jesus @ lowrangeoffroad.com $1413 (had them mount the springs $80)
they also matched nitro-gear.com discount on gears(5.29 front and rear and master install kit) and Auburn LSD $1625.

Thanks again for all the help.

    Steve(kino build),

So I just purchased the OME kit with the 612 coils, and was just watching your video(ep 12 Lift pt4) and noticed that you measured the new front strut (with 614 coils) and your measurement came out to 62.5cm = 24 3/4 inches. Well i just measured my struts (612 coils) and they measured 25 1/2 inches =64.77cm... do you or anyone else have any idea as to why the 612s measure longer than the 614 set up?

I am concerned about getting too much lift since I'll be keeping my UCAs any info would be great.

    Thanks,

    Eric

It may be good to update the first page on this thread and throw out a few measurements.

I installed my 612 springs and running coach builder +2 shackles in the rear

Center of hub to fender measurements are.
    Front: 24 3/4 inches and Rear: 24 3/4 inches

Clarification, i wasnt measuring lift after install.

I was measuring the strut itself preinstall from the top cap to the center of the bottom bolt hole.

    Sorry for any confusion

I got my ome installed over the weekend. 6112 springs up front, still need to get some new leafs for the back and ditch the 1" lift blocks, the PO had put on there.

Old lift edge of rim to fender was 14 3/8"
OME rim to fender is 14 7/8"

Looks like I might have to pull the trigger this evening.

I'll be running an ARB front bumper and winch, and have an AT Habitat on the back, sans anything else, so around 400 pounds. Definitely going w the full springs packs for now, might do the AAL later, as well as shackles. From all the reading, the 613 coils are the appropriate ones for this combo up front, correct?

    Thanks
