it's a cost/effort/reward model. the Kreem or POR kits are pretty good. but if a re-pop tank is cheap enough and quality enough that could be the path. it's a math problem.

Ha, back in the 70's my Dad drove a light blue one. I drove it on the land we had in Saratoga when I was like 10. Mom drove the 1970 Monte Carlo SS with the 350...........and I'm just starting to look for one. I'm not just a Datsun guy, old car Lover in general. The very first car I drove legally was an Mom's 84 Monte Carlo. I like this better, it's what I grew up with.

I am leaning toward a new tank. Classic Industries has what I need at a price I am willing to pay. Due to the damn virus they're not shipping anything. I am using this car to keep me sane during this isolation period. Would be nice if I could order it and put it in while I have nothing better to do with my time.

Thanks for the advice as I am considering every option. Which there isn't many to pick from.

I would like to say when it's finished, "yeah I did that" but will most likely buy new. I would be very pissed to spend the money for a kit and take the time to do it correctly for it not to work well enough.

First car was a 1977 Pontiac trans am like this one. Dad bought it for 1700 in 1995. I had a job in high school that was just enough to put gas in this thing.

A couple years later dad suggested we sell it and I get a civic. I agreed. He sold it for 7k and showed up with a ford tempo like this one the next day and said here’s your civic.

Beautiful man! I had a 72 Z from 88-90 when I was in college. Loved that car. Had some straight pipe racing header and exhaust a Nissan Tech friend put on for me. Car would suck the headlights out from all the 300 Z’s that wanted to race that were just coming out during those years. Wish I could find a picture of it.

First car was a 75 Chevy Vega. Best day of my life was when it broke down for the final time. What a POS.

1991 Integra, not the fancy trim.. it was a hand me down from my sister who spent $500 hard earned tip dollars on an Earl Scheib paint job that involved taping of the windows, and THATS IT. Everything else was covered in poorly applied, globbed on black paint absolutely laden with metal flake. The damned thing looked like a bass boat. Once it was mine I immediately sanded all 5 coats of that shit off in hopes of saving a few bucks in labor costs for a new paint job. That car was beat to hell all through high school and into college as it was used to deliver pizzas pretty much the whole time.

Was able to save and restore the fuel tank straps at least. 20200402_180338.jpg
Put a fresh coat of satin black paint on them and let dry over night. Will post a pic of them when I get back to the house today.

1967 Beetle was mine. I loved that car but when the motor blew in college didn't have enough money to fix it. Still know the guy I sold it to and maybe one day will buy it back.

My dad had a '62 I believe which caught fire on him in his high school parking lot. He ordered and purchased a new '72 Ford Maverick in Grabber Blue with the 302, his senior year of high school, his sister sold it, without his knowing, while he was in the Navy and bought a Gremlin:confused::mad::annoyed::crazy::facepalm:

That's what happens when you hook your vehicle up to 110v. Cars run on 12V just so you know. Oh, and maybe you shouldn't use crappy A/C Delco plugs. NGK all the way.

I didn't install them. Came with them motor. And there 20 years old.

I'll disregard your comment on the 110v. As that was a sarcastic response to your prior comment referencing a computer.

Amazing car. I have 2 older cars 1946 Chevy stylemaster and a 1938 Packard hence why I bought a truck to tow them around when needed
