I can only comment on the self inflating pad, will it be just for you while the wife isn’t with you on the trip? I would look at sea to summit brand, they have one that is super thick and almost has a memory foam feel to it but super comfortable. I have an ExPed pad and it’s pretty good, great customer service, it’s more of a light weight backpacking one. Whenever the smoke clears; if you live near a REI go in a lay on some, they have like 15 blown up and ready to try out.

    - A high-end cooler than will keep ice for several days
    - bear spray (something that goes "boom" is a bonus)
    - solar charger for truck battery, phones, etc

There's an REI a half hour from me.
She won't be with me on this trip, but I'm not going to buy stuff for solo camping and then have to explain to her why we need to buy all the same stuff, but bigger, for camping together.

I always forget about bear spray. I'll get that in the Amazon list immediately.
I have a handheld boomstick, but I haven't looked into CCW reciprocity that far west yet, so I haven't been counting on it going with.
Solar charger is in the Amazon list, but didn't think of using it for the truck, only for gadgets. I'll have to ponder that one a bit.
And I never think of coolers. I have two small (24oz & 64oz) Yetis for personal use, but they won't hold a sandwich and water...at least no sandwich I intend to eat.

    Thanks!

Looks like you are good to go in CO...scroll down to see the list...

    https://www.gunstocarry.com/gun-laws-state/indiana-gun-laws/

Also, I would get an inexpensive but quality compressor and a tire repair kit as well as making sure your spare is good. I have this, and it's the cheapest compressor rated for 33 inch tires I consider to be of good quality...plus you can use it on you MB. :)

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0036E9VB6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You can get the 88P that is a little more powerful compressor (a little more expensive) but it runs off battery pigtails. I wanted to option to do either so I got the 85P and have one of these too...

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072MZM74S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sounds like a fun trip, I'm a little jealous... :)

That website is a little outdated, but yes, I think I'll be just fine.
I have two small compressors, one of which is brand new. So one, or both, will be travelling with me.
And I have a rudimentary plug kit, but I'll look in to the more comprehensive kit you shared.
It should be a total riot. We've gone on annual MTB trips the last two years. As much as we all love bikes and mountains, it gives us a reason/excuse to get together as our lives have spread us around the country. Steve is in Philly and Jon is in Denver and I'm just outside Indy. Unfortunately, we can't get together on weekends or evenings like we did when we were kids. :(

I would look into the Gazelle tents. I wish they were available when I bought our current tent.

Are you planning on biking during this trip? If so, I'd recommend other places than the front range.

The plan, when last discussed, was as follows:

Denver 1-3 days depending on arrival of all parties
    Salida
    Monarch Crest
    Crested Butte
    Aspen/Snowmass
Denver, if time and then depart for home.

Jon lives in Denver, so that's our rally-point. Once we leave Denver, the plan is to camp unless we absolutely need to find a shower somewhere...which is possible, but not likely. I'm taking 10 days off and will lose 2 of those to travel. So we're going to be cramming it in.

I have plans to do a nice upgrade on my truck in 2 weeks. For now I'm taking care of a fish tank that has bothered me for months.

This started off way nicer, with some black stones and a bonsai tree I made out of driftwood and moss. An algae outbreak followed by an infection of cyanobacteria left it like this. All that green is what surfaced three days after a serious cleaning.
    20200403_163241.jpg

I have different rocks, black sand, black lava gravel, and a shitload of new plants. This time I'm going to drop a base layer of mineralized soil first and cap it with lava and sand. This will keep me busy for a few days.

    Two buckets of plants
    20200403_174755.jpg
    20200403_174745.jpg

These are really cool, they're imported from Africa and look like palm trees. Pretty unusual.
    20200403_173512.jpg

Dont wanna bore everybody with the other plants, but I'll post on Wednesday when things are settled.

Wheelers taco lines have a banjo fitting at the caliper and are like an extended line for us, it also gets rid of the rubber line and the hard line. Works pretty well if you can get the banjo to seal, I filed the mating surface on my caliper carefully and used a set of thick copper washers.

looks like my u joints and center bearing will be here tomorrow... nice. I'll order the ECGS bushing when these come in now.. after that tundras "done" (other than interior. i'll dabble with that as i can) for now
Taco needs some love. and the stimulus check is going towards getting that thing closer to ready to roll...

Where did you order your joints from? I’ve heard there’s lots of variations and just wasn’t sure if i would get the right parts unless I went to a dealer

I cross referenced the toyota part number on spicers website. and rock auto had the correct one in stock.
They had the SPICER bearing and u joints. came out to like 75 bucks total.. toyota u joint (made by spicer) is like 70 bucks each my cost...

i'll post up the part numbers when i get them (4x4 u joints are different from 2wd, the 4x4 joints are the same as all the old toyota trucks. 2wd is totally different)

Here is how that tank looks now. I put a layer of mineralized soil across the front and right side capped with black sand. Mixed lava rock gravel and mineralized soil and filled the space behind the rocks a few inches up for depth, gonna cap that with black sand in the morning and start planting.

    Pretty happy so far.

Yours is going to look really good. You are kicking it up many notches from the aquariums I have had.

For myself, one of the best days of my life was when (after the fish died) my kid no longer wanted an aquarium. I HATED cleaning that thing... (<== for the record, I did NOT kill the fish...I swear...)

We had a salt water tank growing up. A lot of maintenance but it was as cool and relaxing as watching a fireplace. Loved it. Had some nice fish that were worth some money but we went on a trip and the house sitter fed them too much and killed a few of the expensive ones. Ended up slowing downsizing and getting rid of it all together.

This tank reminds me of Costa Rica now. This is so relaxing to look at. In a month or two I'll put a lot of shrimp in there and some small fish.

appon further inspection it would appear this is not a possible swap.. damn bolt patterns are different, SOS kit is truly the only option

    @empty_lord

Question for you. On our Rav4 with the 2.5L, it sometimes has trouble idling. So far I've:

    -cleaned the MAF multiple times
    -replaced air filter
    -cleaned throttle body twice
    -replaced spark plugs.

The problem has happened off and on for a few years. I've heard the idle air control valve on these can't be individually replaced. It's part of something else.

    Any suggestions?

The idle air is controlled purely through the throttle. Pull the throttle off and clean the living shit out of it. I’ve never really had one not want to idle, unless the throttle was dirty
