I haven't hunted in many years, but it's not for want of elk being around, thing is the neighbor and I consider our properties nurseries, a lot of young ones are born and raised on our places. We have a nice healthy herd of elk that came over from a burned off area across the creek from a large forest fire we had in 2013, anyway among the elk pictured there is a royal that my neighbor's trail camera took a picture of that was 7 points per side and it's big, elk out here near the Pacific Coast are Roosevelt Elk and they are generally much larger than Rocky Mountain Elk, we've shot both and there are times that the elk out here look more like a log or tall stump. Anyway, we had about 8 or so elk that were browsing on the above our home and I was able to take one picture before they got spooky from the camera flash. Other pics are from previous encounters. I've seen the royal with his antlers, but recently he dropped them, so if he's in any of these pics, he'll just look like the cows he's around.DSC00005 (2).jpg DSC00017.jpg DSC00003.jpg DSC00049.jpg

That is NOT cool. There might not be an actual word for it. Tim Allen's grunts come to mind, but if there's an actual word, it's definitely not "cool." Argh argh.
What kind of handy grippy holdy thingy is on top on that tripod?

it was! The big one I spotted from 1/2 mile with the spotting scope and on the way to go get it found the other 6 point with the kicker. I was elated, but need to find the matches.

Do you use them to make anything or just for decoration? You need one of those dogs they got now that hunt them for you.

I have some in the house for decorations but have about 1200 lbs in the garage that I need to do something with, just sold 100 lbs and don’t want to sell any of the other ones.

A dog would be fun, if nothing else just for the company.
