Carista Options

I was going to get a techstream but figured I would try this thing called a Carista because it works on other makes and models. Its a wifi OBD2 device that just plugs in and works with a app on your phone. The only downside is you have to pay for the "pro" software to unlock features. All of the options you can change is attached for a 2016 Tundra.

I turned off the seat belt dinging, and increased the light duration and it worked fine.

 

I looked on the app and saw that it supported “2nd Gen” Tundras 2007+, you didn’t have any issues with your 2016?

 

I used this app a lot with an Audi. Worked great on setting changes. Also feeds some info into race track apps like Harry's

 

Can this do all windows auto up and down?

 

only issue I have with it is the 1 week pass for $9.99 or the annual fee of $39.99 for the app.

only thing I had to do was buy the cable once and techstream "lite" version came on a cd with the cable. I have been using the same cable since our 2014 4runner and have just "updated" techstream over the years for "free" to use on the 2015 camry, 2016 highlander, 2016 Tacoma and now the 2018 tundra.

edit : forgot to add, I have no issue with carista, its a great app for most people, but since I have the technical computer aspect, its not much hassle to find an updated techstream for when I get new Toyota's.

for me its more cost effective to use techstream than carista.

i know this is an old thread, but it had exactly what I wanted to ask about… the last setting you can change about opening the vents to outside air when the ignition is off… would a person generally want the vents open to outside air when the ignition is off? Or have the vents closed? I only ask because my truck isn’t garage kept and it’s not my daily, so it might sit for a week or so at a time sometimes before it gets driven. If the vents are open to outside air for that long, would the cabin get musty and possibly have condensation buildup inside? I live in southern Pennsylvania where we get all types of weather.

 

I have the same question about the vents. Mine is open "Yes" by default.

Interesting. I am in Texas and truck is outside, city / suburbs setting. Never had a rodent issue. Should I keep it closed just to be safe? Is there a negative to being closed vs opened?

 

I bought my truck back in August, and I’ve seen some what looks like water runs down the inside of my windshield. I didn’t know what it was from (poor cleaning by the dealership, a leak, or condensation build up inside). I haven’t driven my truck since this past Saturday and tonight I just happened to look inside and my windshield is covered in condensation. My only thought is that it’s caused by the outside vents being open when it’s turned off, so I’ll be going into my Carista settings and switching that… has anyone else had this happen?
