Hello. So I checked it out. I have the same unit as you. Under settings, then user settings scroll down and you should see the temp settings. Select that and then the save and reboot. I’ve included a screen shot.

It was more than just that. I needed to have the Chinese version on.. same place you change from Tundra Lo to Tundra Hi. Then drop down box to Chinese and save and reboot, also needed to change the above post to C and the units toL/100km. All good now in C. Now to figure out the interior light to come on when the door opens

Damn, I just installed my Phoenix 12.1 tonight, worked out a few minor bugs. Most importantly, the sound pops and cracks when I turn the volume up at all. I am hoping I don't have the same issue as @_SP_

My truck is a 1794 so I have the upgraded JBL

I have looked though the setting menus non-stop and nothing will get rid of the muddy sound and pop n crackle, its a PX6 4 64

    My current issues

    1) Snap crackle pop sound?
    2) Sound turns off when I put truck in reverse?
    3) Resolution on the back up screen is grainy?

I have watched YouTube videos and searched, any help and or input would be appreciated.

Hey bud.. So there is a setting to keep the music on when in reverse. I think it's under user settings, then parking sound. I needed to pinch the rca connects a bit then the video quality was better on the backup camera. As for the popping sound, make sure the loudness is off. You can also adjust the gain on whatever you're playing. Might be under advanced, password is 666888 and look for the different levels. I think they generally start at 15, you can go way up on them. Under settings and equalizer you can shut off the loudness. Lastly, check the pins on the speaker connection and make sure they're on tight.

Hope this helps. I eventually went away from the factory amp and installed a 5 channel and new components. Sounds amazing now, sub on the way.

    CPdaddy,

Thanks for the suggestions, I do have the "loudness" off in the EQ menu. I will roll the gain down, I had actually turned it up from 30-35 so that could be an issue. I did pinch the yellow video-in connector prior to installing, the pic just seems lower resolution then the factory unit, I'll play with it a little more. Are there any settings or adjustments for the back up camera?

I'm thinking my sound issue has to be a simple setting, there is no way that is can crackle and pop when gently turning up the volume

Also, since you're using the factory amp, go to console ( I think) on the top bar then look at amp settings. Make sure the correct settings are in there. Amp switch to on, a few others are in there too.

I had it at 25 with the factory amp. I tuned it way down with the aftermarket. I think I have it at 15 now. There was background static with the new amp. I didn't adjust the cur volume with mine, but from what i've read with the JBL, it needed to be turned down as well. Have you installed the aftermarket firmware update or joined the facebook group for the unit? I installed the updated firmware from one of the developers on the group and most of the issues I had went away.

Also, I use mine almost always with car play. I haven't even tried the BT. I know you can change the frequency settings on the BT as well. Might clean up the signal.

here's the facebook group link. You have to request entry, but they'll get you in quickly.

GL with the unit. I found after spending over 5 hours playing with this thing it still sounded like crap with no Fader controls and poor backup quality keep in mind the PX6 is only 1024x768 resolution. I think the factory deck is close to that. When I put back in the factory deck I felt a sigh of relief ! it sounded like I changed all the speakers and amp. I could not believe how bad it sounded with the JBL amp. I really think that a MAJOR problem with this deck if you dont get it sorted out soon put in a return request if they dont answer file a credit dispute they answered that in 24 hours! I would rather spend the money on a Alpine Halo 9 made for for the tundra for 1400$ and get customer support if I need it and have CarPlay work! that's the whole reason I bought the android unit. I wish apple made a deck like this. But they just do car play.

edit: also my loudness would come on all by itself sometimes. so check that not happening to you . I also spend 100$ on custom Firmware to try and help with sound. it did nothing but prettied up the UI. 1080p movies looked like crap. The best audio I was able to get out of it was a USB stick with 320kb encoded MP3's. they sounded the best over any music app even Amazon unlimited at highest quality settings. I never streamed music from my phone to the unit. I could never get a text to pop up on the screen. Very disappointed and I got the 4gb 64gb RoM unit and spent 988 with express shipping. I feel I got pulled over the coals. But I got 100% refund ad they send a prepaid label after the dispute. Before that not a peep of support. Ot return message FB YT support ticket ect.. and phone calls for over a week 3x a day during there hours. California

You cant turn the amp off with JBL it just tuns it self back on. The only way to get it to stay off for longe than 1 second is to turn the volume to 0 and then turn the amp off. But as soon as the volume is raised with JBL system the amp comes back on and shows so on the units Display. Even with Custom FW. I wish it was that easy. I think that option is for another vehicle or when you connect the RCAs to an aftermarket amp. But being the unit comes with no instructions or literature who knows for sure.

Any idea how I can adjust the head-unit so that when I have the truck in reverse it doesn't turn off the music?

in user setting there is an option to mute or turn down music in reverse. Mine just was default to turn it down a bit. It never turned it off 100% volume. I forget where the setting was. I was running custom FW and all the settings were in one place USER settings not scattered all over like before. I wish I could tell you exactly where that setting was. I use to take pics of the settings I changed and videos to remember what I changed and where it was it was so confusing before the custom FW.

Bummer to hear your experience, I called yesterday during biz hours no answer, I put in a support ticket today (will see if get a response). The poor sound quality is an instant deal breaker for every person who buys this unit if thats how its going to sound, how can this company even sell this product?

Most people don't have the problems we have. I think its our JBL amp that gives us the POPs and poor sound. I don't know how they get away with no customer support at all though. Check out BBB here

Hey Tom, Do you recall what connector I need to check the pins on for the sound output, I notice when installing the 2 black multi-pin connector that they were hard to push in and no matter how hard I pushed, wasn't certain if the clips locked in place.

hey what sound is not working for you ? your HU sends the sound VIA the can bus cable the wide white cable with very small wires. If that were loose or unplugged you would not have sound at all in my.02

    Update-

I have the OEM Audio+ JBL enhancement system which has 2 subs with their own stand-alone amp, upgrade tweeters and speakers. The system also comes with “accoustic filters” that plug inline into the factory amp connectors under the pass seat. After adjusting any/all settings on the Android headunit from the suggestions of forum members,it dawned on me that those “filters” were the culprit of my sound issue. Took them out, set factory amp back to stock....adjusted Cur level up and the system is clean, clear, louder, sharper than before the Android unit. Sound is amazing. I guess now the fun begins figuring out all the cool features.

Thanks to @JoshuaA for the tips, tricks and suggestions that’s helped me dial in my Android headunit

Do you have an owner's manual? I just bought a used tundra and it came with this unit. I'm having issues with bluetooth phone calls, as the other party cannot hear me. Also, seems really busy and I'd like to simplify it. I don't like google maps, and would rather use waze. Sorry, I know i've bombarded you with a lot, hopefully you can give me some advice. Thanks!

JROD15, can you explain what you mean about the vehicle collision system? You mean the TSS? If so, do you know why? I have a 2019 1794 with all that stuff. Thanks.

I installed a Phoenix Teska android radio in the truck and it did not interface well with the the system. My Airbag bag and collision system showed failures.

Once I removed the radio and reset the system with an OBD ll reader it resolved my problem.
