So my son (11 years old) decided to get me this for my birthday a few weeks back.

I absolutely love it...but I'm having a helluva time figuring out what to do with it. I can use it for ammo, but to be honest that'd be heavy as hell, plus it's too deep to store stuff in, I'm thinking. Any ideas? (Serious or otherwise. LOL)

How tall is it? Could mount it in the garage and use it to store shovels and rakes and stuff.

I had one mounted horizontally in the bed of my truck. You can store a lot of recover gear in those.

    I'd say it's about 30" tall.

I can take a pic of the inside, if that's what you mean.

On a side note...the box and the seals, etc., are in fantastic condition. I need to go see if they have any ammo cans...wife said son paid like $20 for this. :eek2:

Mount it in the truck bed and use it as locked storage

Yeah, I think I might do just that, although I don't think I'd mount it hanging off rails; it's not light. Likely I'd mount it lid-up and use it for storage.

You can do it as it sits in the pics, vertically.

Mount to a forward corner, 2 points of bedrail contact and all the weigh on the bed floor. Thin layer of padding or isolating material on the bottom to prevent wear/contact/noises and boom.

That is, indeed, what she said.

Seriously though, I'm pretty impressed too. I'll be purchasing the rail kit soon for the truck, and will then likely modify this to stand up, bolted to the rail kit, for whatever I need it for.

Oh, I wouldn't doubt it - he was almost more excited about the truck than I was! :D
