Gotcha. Yes. Almost any company that makes LED headlight bulbs makes the resisters as well. Just email or call their support and tell them what’s happening and they’ll say, “oh sir, you need to buy our inline resisters. Berry good quality and make everyting work 100%”. They may even send em for free depending on the company. You get em from Amazon? Should be able to find what you need off the questions on the products page if so.

Decided to give the Volks a rest and switch up the look. Threw on the wheels that came off of my Tacoma.

Anyone know the best way to attack the headliner? Any certain products, or special care needed in cleaning that?

I use a product called work horse and a brush and lightly scrub then hit with a rag... works decently

I'll look into it. Any other recommendations are welcome.

I am figuring since I went the "extra mile" (according to my pops) I may as well go full monty, and clean everything on the inside.

There are a few spots I'm concerned about as far as stains, a few years of rolling 60 mph on the freeway, and blowing cigarette smoke out the window. Or so we thought.

Couple of dark colored spots on the sun visors. I may end up just replacing them, but the passenger side holds memories. When I was a wee lad my mom drove me to a doctors appointment. Afterwards they gave me a lollipop, and this sweet stegosaurus sticker which I promptly put on the inside of the visor next to the mirror. That will be hard to remove, and stick on the new one.

The rear behind drivers seats is pretty grody. I might take my little green machine for another run this weekend.

Ya I love them. And I definitely like them over the toyota ones. They have a deeper look to them.

    A thought I had as I passed a 3rd gen Tundra.
How many times do you think we've passed another forum user, and had no idea?

The inner workings of my tired brain are an enigma so please forgive me if the thought/idea makes no sense to anyone else.

Just don't get it too wet. Amazing how fragile they glue becomes after a decade + of heat/cool cycles.
A bit of a chore, but if you dropped the headliner & flipped it over it would be a hecka-lotta easier to work on. Just don't crack the shell - keep it evenly supported if you drop it.

I'm sure given enough time I could figure it out, but how does one DROP the shell? I get that its slightly curved. What are your thoughts on using a bed with pillows around the perimeter as support?

based on all the headliners I've removed from other vehicles...
I've always just removed all the screws/handles/lights/visors/doodads/thingamabobs that poke through the headliner first. It is generally still supported by the interior trim at this point. Then, I've moved around the perimeter removing/loosening trim so that it can be slid out. An DC may require the removal of the front seats to make space to wriggle the thing out the door. An AC or SC should be nbd. A second set of hands & eyes is helpful the first time, but I've done headliners in a mkIII Jetta by myself and that hog was 6' long and 40" wide. Just gotta be gentle and go slow.

If you crack/damage the backer (shell), it can be repaired at home. So don't worry too much.

So nice!! Huge fan of the grey/dark grey combo on white. Add the white walls and man, that looks dang good. I think black wheels are played out as it is so I’m partly biased...

I would think the rear drop down window would be the easiest spot to pull the headliner out.

I feel like I've really let the team down here.
I much prefer the look of the AC, but higher resale and a full roll-down rear window has me rethinking a lot of life decisions right now.

As you should be. The first gen DC really is the best when it comes to size. Not overly bloated like the 2nd gens + and still big enough seats to fit comfortably in the back as an adult.

I picked up this Grille Assembly local recently. Just kinda came across it, thinking it looks really clean and simple. I really like it. Bought it for my son’s truck. Don’t know a whole bunch about it, did some part number searching, but nothing came up.
Someone mentioned it was a “Darrell Walltrip” edition grille. Waiting to hear back from the Toyota parts guy to verify the part number and fitment

See, that's the thing. I don't want anyone in the back seat. I want to be able to recline my seat and transport the wife and groceries in the rain. That's about all I need for interior space. She has a [small] sedan so we're not fully equipped to haul a lot of human around...by design.
If there's a family/friend gathering that we attend, we always get to drive separate. Then, we can leave when we like. If you haul/are passengers, you are subject to the schedule of others.

I've spoken about my regret about not getting a double cab. The half doors on the AC suck ass. Also, I wish I had the 5 speed auto and VVTI. The only downside to the 05-06's is the air injection pumps that seem to always fail.
