It's a driver training exercise... I watched one drive by a minute ago and the instructor waived. My hood has many hills & turns, so it's a good choice for this.

My generation has their issues but we don't run the federal goverment. I think there are less than a dozen millenials in congress. So we didn't create this mess of endless spending but we damn sure will be the ones paying for it some day. I think I'm still shell shocked over the fact that we just printed 2 Trillion dollars. That's a number so big you can't even really understand it.

If any young people are excited about getting a $1,200 check then they fail to understand that we will eventually see a day when this bill becomes due.

Maybe Millennials can start a Social Media Campaign? Call it the ‘Don’t Cash Your CV Check and Pay It Forward’.

    . :annoyed:

Figuring ways I can fit the Tundra into the Underground Bunker. Looks like it’ll be 2 more months of isolation ahead and I need something to do besides figuring how I’ll be best collecting my government checks. Might start with a feather dusting of my new muffler. She got a little dirty yesterday at skooll.

Would you guys take a lump sum payment or would you rather take an annuity type payment (see guv lifetime pension)? Any finance people out there?

Always lump sum unless they’re paying you interest.

time value of money rules always say $xx is worth less now than $xx later because that money could be used to war interest or invest and make more money between now and later.

Generally taking a lump sum is better - theory being you can invest it for a better rate of return.
That said, a lot of lottery winners end up destitute & in debt in a few-10 years. For a lot of people it's just safer/better to have a gtd check that keeps on coming.
If you took a lump sum & invested it, right now your dividend checks might be looking mighty scant. So with the normal economic highs & lows... if you're not in a place to weather the thin times, that routine check provides a lot of peace of mind.

Well, I accidentally ordered 2886 coils instead of 2885 coils. Me and coil springs just can’t get along... Seriously, you’d think I was drunk or something...

Anyone with personal experience with the 2886s? Are they going to be ungodly stiff compared to the 2885s? They’re a 660lb coil an 3/8” taller compared to the 2885 590lb coil.

The coils that come on 6112s for Tundra's are 650lbs, so I dont' think the weight will be that much of a problem (especially if you ever put a bumper on), but the bigger issue will likely be the height. I've seen some people reporting as much as 3 inches of lift from the 885s, so if you are going a have a bugger of a time getting it aligned if you don't have adjustable upper control arms. Also, depending on your rear, you might have some bro-lean going on...

This would be a good thread to read for you....maybe @rock climber could chime in with where he ended up...?

While the lump some @ the time of retirement for me enticing for reasons already mentioned, We chose monthly payments and possible annual COLAs. With Tammy being 10 yrs younger, just felt it best for her to know what she’ll be getting monthly.

While I have no argument against this statement, what a lot of people don't take into account is that people who play the lottery aren't generally the most money-savvy to begin with. Please bear in mind, I'm painting with a broad brush here. I'm not saying gambling is the devil or that all Lottery players are fools. But the average lottery player would be far better off investing those lottery $$ into anything else. State lotteries are huge businesses and they fund a lot of good things. But how many of you have seen someone buy lottery tickets with money that just came out of a bra or a sock or was jingly change instead of folding money?

Exactly, I’m fine with making people whole who were laid off during this mess. But I don’t need the $1200 check or whatever Adjusted check I’ll be getting. It flat out pisses me off that people who haven’t been effected are going to get our tax dollars.

Hopefully this corona virus doesn’t turn into a Bernie virus.

My mother in law is a great example of this. She's a financial nightmare. She's been playing the lotto for a few decades now at probably $20/week or more. Imagine if she had invested that money all these years. Do you think she has any money set aside for retirement? ----Morgan Freeman voice "she does not"

I'm at 2" in the rear, and brand new Leafs, so no sag. I'm using Eibach Pro-truck shocks, So my plan is just put them on the bottom setting (supposed to be stock height on stock 14" coils) and the 2886s are 15.8", so that in theory puts me at a 2" lift. maybe a bit more due to angles. I already have a diff drop kit installed, so I'm not too worried about my CV angles right now. I do not have aftermarket UCAs, but this far with my spacer lift I had no trouble getting it aligned.

I installed a Diff drop kit a few months ago.

I have the 886's. I came from KYB's, stock springs with a spacer. (2.5" lift) Not sure the age/mileage but the ride improve was significant going to the OME w/886's. The lift was 4" though with a steel bumper (no winch or added skid plates yet). I have a 1" block in the rear with OME shocks (I do have a topper but the bed's currently empty) and I'm sitting 1" higher at the front.

Again, I had a big ride improvement. At the same time, I did do SPC UCA's then a day later added the Hellwig sway bar. These items could contribute to the overall improvement so wanted to toss that out there. I was a little thrown off by the 4" lift and not sure how this will affect my suspension components longterm (I do have a 1" diff drop) but because the lift is so much I feel more confident getting the Archive leaf springs in the future (pending what weight I end up with in the bed).

I wanted to like this, but just couldn't bring myself to do it.
Consider $20/week is over $1000 a year. That's more than my last two raises were. (each, not cumulative) It's more than my wife spends on gas getting to/from work for the year. That's a ton of money. And we haven't even gone into all the other associated [frivolous] expenses that get lumped in with buying tickets...like the gas to get there, or a candy bar or pop that otherwise wouldn't have been purchased. It adds up fast. Then, you couple that with a big win and that player feels like A. they can't lose. B. they have enough money for forever. So they keep spending without thinking, except now they're buying houses or cars or RVs or barrels of drugs instead of tickets and candy/pop. Hell yeah, they go broke.

Best part. After they've burned through their winnings, they go right back to playing.

Yes, they are OME shocks and No, they are not adjustable.
