    Hey All,
New to the forum and Tundra owner, so new I don’t even have the truck yet! But it comes in next week, so trying to prepare for its arrival where I’ll have to tow a boat same day.

I ordered a 2020 Tundra SR5 Sport 4x4. Does anyone know the stock height from the ground to the top of the hitch? Trying to figure out what height receiver tube and ball I need (C).

Do you know the tongue weight of the boat trailer? Don't forget to factor that in. My CM squats about an inch when I hook up my boat with 450 lbs on the tongue.

Do you have a tandem axle trailer?

It may depend on the tires size that comes on your stock. Mine is a 2016 Crewmax, with TRDOR package and 275/65-18 tires. I think when I measured it the height was 19.5 inches.

In my experience, a 0-2" drop will do fine. I'm no longer stock height or I would measure for you.

Tow a boat the same day you take delivery of a brand new 2020 Tundra ?
Get an adjustable height hitch like a BW adjustable

I would still break in the vehicle before towing.
Like I said... tow a boat with a brand new tundra?
Your transmission and rear end need time to break-in and heat cycle

I would love to break it in first but I don’t have any other way to move the boat. Plus I’m only towing it like 2 miles total and the whole thing only weighs ~1500 lbs. Hoping it should be ok?

With that weight and distance, you’ll be fine.

And at that weight, I doubt you have tandems on the trailer, so the hitch height won't be any big deal. If you don't want to buy one until you figure out what drop you eventually want, then just borrow one from someone for the short trip.

Probably a 2" drop. Maybe even 3 with a light boat and smaller tires. I use a 2" with dual axle 5000 lb boat.
