So I have heard multiple people say the sweet spot for the 3rd gen tundras aftermarket wheel offset is between +30 and +18 with not having to do a bmc now iam confused by this because when coming to offset the lower you go in number when it’s still positive the more the wheel will stick out away from the fender example +20 will stick out less than +1 now I have a 3/1 lift in my 17 tundra. I was told by multiple people when doing wheels do the +20 rather than the +1 I wanted to run for more poke because if I went with the +1 I’d have to do a bmc but I don’t understand how because the +1 would push out further. Please explain if you can.

The further your rim "pokes" out, the wider the path the outside edge of your tire travels when you turn the wheel. The outside edge(when turning) is what hits the body mount.

Not trying to confuse you further, but offset only talks about the wheel. And a +20 offset on a 8.5" rim is different than a +20 on a 9" rim. I suck at explaining it, but do yourself a favor and look up backspacing. You will need 5.5"-5.75" of backspacing no matter the rim width. Then you can get the correct offset on a rim width you want.

50mm on an 8 wide clears 35s with a good alignment. Those are rock warrior specs.

Look up icon wheels for proper 8.5 wide specs, their wheels clear 35s with proper alignment as well.

I’m a little confused too. I currently have 20x9 with a +20 and Like how they stick out but looking to get 22x9.5 or 22x10 so was wondering what offset I would need to get the same look as my current setup?

26mm per inch. Extended .5-1" will require an about 6-13 offset increase to have the same backspacing as your current setup.

When you say they clear 35s, do you mean without having to do a BMC?

What size tires you running? Here’s mine 295/70/18 0 offset and didn’t need the BMC. It took the same amount of trimming as my old +18 wheels needed. Little bit on the inner fender liner up front and removal of front mud flaps

wanted to run a +1 offset vs the +20 I went with but I figured I’d rather be safe than sorry and possibly run spacers if I need more poke

Did you look up the Icon or research the rock warriors a little at all?

Yes, you'll still have an unmodified OE cab mount.

I still have my cab mount, and all the plastics in my wheel well. Only thing I don't have are mud flaps.

Noting to note: with rock warriors and 1.25" spidertrax - I would have had to do a CMC, but rather I decided to take the spacers off and problem solved.

IIRC full locks not the issue, you actually rub mid turn. 1st pic mid turn, 2nd almost full.

I am running 20x10s with a -19mm of offset with a 275/55/r20 tire and all I had to do was remove the splash guard off of the front bumper...it just barely touches the mud flap but clears the body mount by a mile, I love the stance of my truck now and I put it in the CustomOffsets gallery if you want go check out all the pics

    35x12.5

    50mm offset 8 wide

I was more so trying to note that full lock, while it can be an issue, mid turn comes sooner (offset variations considered).
