Just tried to order some M1's for my 17 Crew max, and was told they're not sure if they'll fit. Said it would be 90-120 days before they can figure out the fitment. That's just crazy to me. I didn't even think there was any change to the frame or body from the past couple years. Wondering if I should just order them and see for myself? Could always ship them back. Don't really want to wait that long for them to find out.

From what ive been reading the M1's don't fit with the 38 gallon gas tank. I was also interested in getting the M1's.

You can certainly proceed like you described, but another option is to buy sliders elsewhere. There are several shops fabricating quality sliders for our trucks, both weld on and bolt on. I'm using bolt on sliders from SDHQ, there is also currently a group buy going on this forum from another shop.

I have the reg sized tank, shouldn't be an issue

I know, it's just that I did a lot of research to find a set I really liked, and with a reasonable price. Went to order them and was told they might not fit! Just kinda bummed out.

If it fits previous years, and they just haven't confirmed on a 17, I think you should be fine. Only thing I can think of is the 38 gallon, but since you have the small tank...

    Previous, being 2015 & 2016 for certain.
Possible changes in model year 2014.

I have installed M1's on my truck and mine is 14. It was very tough to attach the bracket that wraps around the frame rail right besides the tank and from what I was told by manufacture bigger tank is closer to the frame rails and no room for the bracket and 2 bolts/nuts that must be attached on the tank side.

Well, my parts guy at our local Toyota place said they'll fit. I ordered them and should be in this afternoon. We start high school baseball practice today, so Sunday will be the day to try and do the install!!

I will try to get some more pictures. Just haven't had the time yet. Just started baseball season, and any day light time is busy.

I have a 2016 crewmax and i have passenger side on fine. Just very cautious about drivers side with the ebrake, brake lines, and fuel lines located on frame. Any suggestions?

Do you have the 38 gallon gas tank?

I do not think my tank is 38 gal tank. The tank isn't the issue the issue lies with all of the lines running on the frame. I have ample tank clearance for bracket.

I was just asking because I was interested in these sliders a few months ago but they don't fit the tundras with the bigger gas tank. I thought they fixed that.

I had my dealership put them on. I tried myself and had same issues. A lot less headache for me by letting them do it!

Apparently the '16 crewmax only has the perfect spacing for the front brackets on the model with the 28 gal fuel tank. However company (smittlybuilt) stated that they have heard of people using a spacer for the ebrake to gain the necessary clearance. Now the key is to find a place that will do that without billing me a small fortune to put the step on. The dealership was just lazy and wouldn't make any calls to figure out how to install it.
