My CM Limited has the JBL sound system and nav unit. I use the nav very infrequently. It's sometimes helpful driving around in an unfamiliar town. Lately I've encountered a problem of the unit telling me there is no nav DVD - "Please Insert DVD" when there is actually a DVD inserted. Then it will go back to normal operation for a few minutes, then do it all over again. It cycles in and out of this mode for awhile, then might settle down and behave. Or it might not and I'll just turn it off. Does anyone know if I can use a DVD lens cleaner disc on this unit? I do live on a dirt road, so I do drive in dusty conditions, and while I don't know if that is the cause of the problem, I'd like to see if cleaning the lens will help.

I'll do it, Bob. Thanks. I'll let you know if that fixes the problem.

Did the lens cleaning disc routine. Didn't change anything. Used canned air to blow into the slot where the disc inserts. Seemed to help a little, but am stilll having the problem, it just doesn't seem to happen quite as often or last as long during each episode.

You might have to crack it open to clean the lens. Not sure how difficult that is, but I'm sure it's probably a PITA. Another option is to try another disc. Is there anybody you know in your area that has one you could try?

I don't know anyone.....but have suspected the possibility that it is the disc, too. This is not the disc that was in the truck when I bought it. It's a newer version. I'm presently looking to see if I still have the other disc. I think I tossed it. The disc in there now worked flawleesly until a short while ago.
No reset button that I know of.

That may be a clue. Unless you paid an outrageous price for that disc, it is likely a bootleg copy which are known to cause similar problems.

Yeah, I've wondered about that, too. I suppose bootleg copies could have the same printing on the front and look exactly like the factory disc. It looks factory, but that could be pretty easily copied.
