I have 6 month old remanned cv axles and in the last two weeks I've been getting a clunk I'm trying to chase down. I've looked at all of the typical suspects, but noticed when I pull the cv axle away from the truck it has a little play and then clunks when it hits the collar (or whatever is in there).

Is it normal to have a little play in the cv axle and then it stops with a clunk?
