Well I am the original poster of thread and wanted to see what folks towed with a 5.7 with crew cab and tow package. This is my boat and do you think I am good with the weight?

6,000lbs boat, 1,400lb trailer and figure 900lb gas, water, gear. 8300lbs total.
Boat is more of a project than I estimated originally.

really doesn't make financial sense, but love the freedom you feel out on the water.

You know, it doesn't make financial sense to travel to a beautiful remote area and pay for a rental cabin or hotel room when you have a perfectly fine home where you could spend the week. But we do it because it makes us happy. IMHO, same thing with the boat! Enjoy it... the fact that you are cognoscente of the cost tells me you probably deserve it.
