Hello all, welcome to my build thread. Just recently purchased a 2008 sequoia SR5 with 110k on the dash. I have a few goodies coming (grill and headlights)
but for right now it’s sitting nice.

Previous owner put the tundra wheels on it and that was about it.

Can’t wait for what’s in store this year,
    Stay tuned!

Welcome Benny! Let the transformation begin!! It's wild that we can bolt on a few parts and make our trucks look like 2020 models.

Got windows tinted. 5% all around except windshield obviously.
    Any recommendations for window visors?

Yours will look better when it’s done (I don’t like that grill with the black bars next to the headlights). I’m not sure about the handling and what all the TRd sport comes with as far as suspension, but I think they will be pretty similar in that aspect too. I love my 08 platinum with auto leveling airbags.

That new grill looks great! Did I miss the info about the manufacturer and where you purchased it...? Please advise.

    **OEM FACTORY BACK-UP CAMERA**
    INSTALLATION

-If your truck didn’t come with a backup camera, like mine :(, don’t worry!
Many of them have the factory pre-wire ready to go!
(To check if prewired you can unscrew the reading lights/sunglasses compartment and locate the spare wire harness)

Depending on your interior trim color, you will need to select the matching camera monitor.

    GREY:
    https://parts.toyota.com/p/Toyota__Sequoia/Back-up-Camera/69523000/PT2330C080.html

I have the (sand) Beige color and I would recommend sourcing it off eBay for a much cheaper price.

Next you will need the rear camera obviously lol.
    CAMERA:
    https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/p/TOYOTA__SEQUOIA/Park-Assist-Camera-Rear/4062993/8679034040.html

I sourced it off eBay as well but here is the part # 8679034040.

Everything will be plug and play, only thing that it will require is some drilling to pass the wire through from the monitor to the vehicles harness.

    Need:
    -10mm wrench
-Flathead to pop the panel off
-Philps for the rear latch handle

I got away with not having to take the whole panel off. I only needed to pry the bottom of the doors to the sides of it.

Then i managed to get my arms in and unscrew the 2 10mm nuts on the non camera plate and swap it out.

    upload_2020-3-26_17-49-16.jpg

Then you just connect the camera to the harness make sure to line up the pins and slowly snap it in place. Don’t want to bend the pins:E!

And that’s it for the rear!

(I would recommend leaving the panel dangling off if the camera needs to be adjusted or to confirm everything works, before putting the panel back on)

Nice! I was about to buy a complete license plate backup camera and run the wire. I had no idea the wiring is already there to add a camera! I just picked up a 2008 Sequoia SR5 with 113,000 miles.

I'm replacing the radio with a Kenwood DNX576S and want to hook up the camera to the radio screen. Anyone know if you can tap into the wire for the factory backup camera and run it to an aftermarket radio?

    Thanks
