Hey all...was hoping that there is some sort of step I can install that would help me getting up into the bed. Thanks!

Pricing on those steps is unreal.

I've been wanting to get one but they're too expensive for what they are imo. I'd be fine using the bumper corner but there's really nothing on the bedside to grab onto to help pull up. I usually grab the corner above the tail light, but not much to grip to.

Does the OEM step bolt to the frame or OEM bumper assembly? Curious if it will work with the Smittybilt M1 bumper.

I can’t believe there aren’t any cheaper aftermarket options. $230 is pretty absurd for what it is.

It bolts to the frame. But it uses the bumper bracket bolts, so as long as your aftermarket bumper did not change this setup you might be okay there. However, it sits close to the OEM bumper when folded up, and when down the bracket gets close to the bumper also, so depending on your bumper size it might still not work right.

Thanks for the pic. Looks like an easy enough install. Gonna see what my local dealer sells it for. Not a glamorous mod, but would definitely be useful.

I use a small step stool that folds up and fits under the toneau behind the fender and I bungie it to the side. There are plenty of options under 20 bucks.

I carry this on trips and when wheeling. I strap it with bungee cord against the tailgate.

I broke my ankle a few months ago and would just hobble over on my crutches, sit on the tail gate, turn around, and get up. It was free and easy on the joints.

Thanks for the tip, it looks like their antenna mount would work good as a hand-hold. Will have to go measure my gate gap tomorrow when it's not raining and see if it'd work. Only thing I'd be somewhat worried about is if you get any bed flex that it'd rub the paint off the gate. Also I'm not sure if those are existing holes or not.

I have an 8" lift on 37's, this didn't work for me. So I bought the step. I agree they are steep for what they are, but they are sturdy and well made. You can get the bestop version and save a few bucks.

Famous last words. You're either stripping the top of the bumper and replacing a support bracket, or taking a cutoff wheel to the factory one. I would take the cutoff wheel route if I were to do it again.

    Only for the driver's side.
