In my experience , i have found the the quickest way to deter a woman form ever shooting a handgun again in her life is to hand her a snub nosed revolver and let her burn her hands with the cylinder flash.
On the other end of that spectrum , i have also found that starting the ladies on a semi auto 1911 .45 for one or two shots , then swapping that for a 9mm is a great way to keep them interested and they see the reduced recoil is actually manageable and accuracy improves. Positive reinforcement.

If that's a legal and papered SBR why do you still have an SB arm brace on it?

WTF? A short barreled shotgun... as in any riot type shotgun you can legally purchase at a retail store like Scheels. Im not talking about a shotgun of less than 18" you fool! Assuming guns have not been part of his life was based on his quote - "Currently the only gun I own is an old 22 rifle that I gave to my brother about 15 years ago because my wife isn't a fan of having any guns in the house."

And BTW I did say IF guns have not been a big part.

Fool? You DID say short barreled shotgun. You cannot buy an SBS WITHOUT a form-1 and pay for the tax stamp. Know what you're talking about before you start spouting off.

Look up the definition. You should get your terminology correct.

Yes, you did say "IF guns have not been a big part", then proceed to mention getting an NFA item. Which is what doesn't make much sense.

Check out the Smith & Wesson M&P Shield M2.0 line. I have the Bodyguard 380, 9mm, and 45.......all with CT lasers and all concealable. As for ammo, check ammoseek.com.

Pretty sure @Woodguy65 was referring to a 'short barreled shotgun' as being an 18" barreled shotgun, as opposed to a longer 28" barreled hunting shotgun.
I never felt he was recommending anyone to buy anything shorter than 18".
He wasn't addressing the know-it-all gun laws guys like you, but the guy that owned a .22 rifle 15 years ago and doesn't know sh!t about guns.

No need for you to be "THAT GUY" @shakezoola ..
You must be a hoot on Glocktalk.
    Relax..

But just for sh!ts and giggles, my SIL recently bought a 14" barreled Mossberg 590 Shockwave here in Texas.
    No tax stamp needed.

So yes, you can buy a 12ga 'pistol' without a tax stamp.
    And you were saying?

I'll warn you now, asking what gun to buy is like asking what color of hair is most attractive. You'll get a shitstorm of advice from everybody and their dog. Some will say glock, sig, HK, S&W, Taurus, etc. "because (insert personal preference) is the best/most reliable."

The "solid" choice for a handgun is going to be the one that you will actually go out and shoot enough to be of use with it. Find one in your budget that fires a round you can afford to practice with. Hold a bunch to see what's comfortable. If you can, try out a variety through friends or rentals to see what you like, and get some training with whatever you choose.
Best of luck, and I hope you enjoy the hobby without ever NEEDING to draw your gun.

I'm not a member of "glocktalk", so you can stick that wherever for making a dumba$$ assumption.

My point was that he specifically mentioned SHORT BARRELED SHOTGUNS. Logically and technically, due to the definition of an SBS, requires a tax stamp. Excuse me for applying logic to a discussion.

As for the mossberg.. Although the barrel length of the Shockwave is 14 inches in length, the gun was manufactured with a pistol grip, so it was never intended to be shoulder fired, and it’s over 26 inches long, which puts it into a category not subject to any NFA requirements. But is still restricted in some states. The more you know....

As many others have said it is very hard to go wrong with a Glock in 9mm. If I could only have one handgun, it would hands down be my glock 19. The hard part right now is going to be finding ammo. 9mm is pretty much sold out nationwide right now.

The G19 is an awesome pistol, too small for my hands but awesome nonetheless.

I've got Sasquatch hands too, you just got to get used to hanging a pinky off :D. I would prefer a full size frame for grip but I can't conceal one unless I appendix carry. The 19 is the sweet spot between concealment and shootability.

I switched to appendix carry after that Suarez class.
Been carrying my Sig P226 and P320C off and on. I wont carry a smaller gun that the 320C . Its my preference to bring as much to the fight as you can .
