    Response from Shine Supply:

Our Shift soap would be equivalent to Reset. Zero additives. Pure soap only.

One huge plus is Shift soap has no hazardous warnings like Reset has. Ours is a “green” product.

Shine Soap would be specific for vehicles that have a wax or sealant on them.
Shift soap is for ceramic coated vehicles.

Since they did not address it....does that mean that Shine soap has gloss enhancers...and that they do not recommend Shift for non-coated vehicles?

I’m guessing Shine does have enhancers. (You’re right, he didn’t directly answer the question.)

If Shift has no enhancers and is ph neutral, it’s obviously going to be fine for any application. I’m guessing he’s saying that with a coated vehicle there’s no need for anything but pure soap? I think most of us prefer soap with no enhancers. We spend so much time zeroing in on the protection we like that don’t need or want anything adding to it.

As much as I love Shine Supply, I disagree that Shift is equal to Reset. I used it a couple of times, and while it was good, it wasn’t in Reset’s league. The main reason I love Reset is that out of all the soaps I’ve tried, it has the lowest tendency to leave streaks or spots if I don’t rinse quickly enough. With a black truck in the Texas heat that is very important to me. Shine outperformed Shift in that regard for me, which is surprising if Shift is more pure.
I also feel like Reset just makes the truck look better than anything else. I can’t really quantify it, but that’s my impression. I’ve used at least a dozen different soaps and it remains my favorite by a long shot. The price is the only drawback. If Reset was cheaper there’d be no reason to even try something else.

Shift being a more “green” product than Reset is probably more of a product of Shine Supply being based in California. They have to be overly conscious of that there because of regulations and customer base. I’m not aware of anything hazardous with Reset, but certainly haven’t gone looking for the information.

@SouthBoundSteve since you’re a big Carpro advocate along with your endorsement of Shift, what are your thoughts?

Funny that you say that Reset makes your truck look better....I've had a similar experience. My truck has a base of Powerlock, and gets Bead Maker every other wash. The truck seems to maintain the gloss better when I use Reset. Even though it has a hefty price point, it's becoming my favorite soap.

At least it lasts a while. You don’t have to use much. Other soaps require more in the bucket. Powerlock is another great product. Lasts longer than every other sealant I use. Love that stuff, though I think the Hydro2/ Beadmaker combo looks better on black.
Powerlock is great on windshields also.

Agreed. This will definitely steer me towards buying more from them. I have tried a few of their products and like them all a lot. The big stores run sales quite often so it's tough for the smaller companies to compete, but this discount is enough to draw me in and maybe pay a little more than I would elsewhere buy the stuff is really good and I hear their service is second to none

I haven't gotten any of it yet but its on my list forbsure. I think Jason tried it and said it's quite different from anything else he has used, if I'm thinking of Punch it and not Clutch.

While on the subject of reset, I have a bottle and have used it a couple times, not in the cannon yet. I find it makes almost zero suds at all for me. I also use CG maxisuds2 which is very sudsy and foams great so maybe I'm just not used to a low foaming soap. Even though it doesnt foam up much for me I really like how well it works, I think it's a mental thing for me though, when I don't see a lot of suds I feel like it's not doing its job, even though I can see it is and the lubricity is amazing. Maybe I'm just going crazy

I used Punch It a year or so ago. It did well, and was very hydrophobic, but just felt weird. Really grabby on application. It doesn’t feel like other sealants, and he doesn’t list it as one. I asked him about it after I used it. His response:

“You can definitely use it as stand alone protection. I simply classify it in the “detail spray” category because of its application method. The performance is what separates it from other detail sprays. If I were to call it a sealant or something else in that manner guys will have a tendency to have unreasonable expectations on the product.

I apply to my Silverado every other wash and it keeps it crazy slick and hydrophobic. You could easily include it into a service menu as an up-sell for a couple months of protection or a boost to the existing protection.”

I think it’s designed more as a ceramic booster, but could be wrong. I didn’t use it a lot, as I discovered Beadmaker not long after.

Can someone tell me if some information I got is correct ?
Dawn dish soap and steel wool is the best for cleaning a car.
The only reason I ask is because I’m about to have to paint the entire front end of a lady’s Lexus. She thought that was a good way to get the bugs off.

I saw that it was coming soon last week. Its definitely not cheap, especially since they don't have a 50ml. Description reads 3-4 years longevity when properly cared for which is great, but I'd bet that's on 2 coats, which 30ml will not do on our trucks. Price seems to be in line with most boutique coatings and even some from mainstream companies. Carpro CQ 3.0 stands out even more now to me after looking at the price point of most other coatings. I am still shocked at the price CP maintains on their ceramics and as much as I love the guys at shine supply, I can't see any reason to go with anyone other than CP CQ for a coating. That said, I am putting together a shine supply order now for a few items i want to try, and some refills on stuff I have used and just want more of.

Yes they are. I had one and loved it. It was fast and smooth. Unfortunately it was stolen along with all of my detailing equipment and things about a year ago.

Again I loved my Bigfoot but I would only spend that money again if I was doing detailing on the side again. Since I only do my vehicles I may, haven't decided, just go with a GG Polisher. From what I read and heard is just a Porter cable with a different handle. I learned how to polish with a porter cable and its a great little polisher.

You can put bead maker on your wheels. A lot of guys will ceramic coat them as well. To get the spots of you may need to go with something acidic to cut out the iron maybe I am not 100% what the spots are. I use Sonax and I am sure Shine Supply has an equivalent and if something that that doesn't work you may nee to do some detailing on them. Small polisher or by hand. Then are sure to seal them after.

I think this is similar to the Adam's mystery waterless wash product.

Spiked Punch ceramic waterless wash is a silica (SiO2) infused waterless wash that is excellent for cleaning light dust & grime off the exterior of your ceramic coated vehicle.

    https://adamspolishes.com/products/ceramic-waterless

SiO2 Infused Waterless adds protection while you clean. Adam’s Ceramic Waterless Wash is a revolutionary way to clean your ceramic coated vehicle and safely remove dirt while maintaining protection. This product was designed to be used with our current Blue Waterless Wash Towel to provide a safe and easy way to clean your ceramic coated ride when proper washing methods are not available

Looks like I didn’t read what I linked. I got the impression it was an ONR substitute, but that was from reading some Facebook posts about it.

On another note, I was playing around over the weekend, and made a detail spray with Punch It. Just diluted it 3-1 with water. It worked very well. Left a pretty smooth finish.
