What brand oil do you use and why? Full synthetic or synthetic blend? I'm doing my first oil change this weekend on my own and wanted to hear everyone's thought. I'm about to hit 40k.

Or go with Mobile-1 and use Motor Kote with 0 percent displacement. Has worked quite well for me for years. (not a vendor)

If you purchased a used tundra and it had conventional oil in it, would you continue to run conventional or switch to full synthetic ASAP?
I have a friend that runs conventional every 3,000 mi. and has no issues. Yet others swear by mobile 1?
    personal preference?

I switch everything to Mobile 1, whether new or used, as soon as I take possession.

I started using Mobile 1 as I did a chitload of research when I dumped 25k years ago into engine and other performance mods on a high hp performance oriented Sunday driver. Based on that research, I also switched everything over to M1. Up to this point, with 6 vehicles in the garage/storage - I've had zero issues and have only changed oil and other fluids at proper intervals. Research supported the move, the results have been excellent - so I stick with what works for me. For the record, two of the vehicles have an oil analysis done regularly - and I couldn't ask for better results.

Then again I do the same things for the rubber - I switch immediately to Michelins and couldn't ask for more. I tend to stick with what works - so your MMV....Tundra is the first without Michelins - it's has BFG KO2's waiting for its new wheels from SCS...

I apologize for resurrecting such an old thread but is there any recommendation for changing from the typical Mobile 1 0w-20 to their high mileage 0w-20 at a certain mileage? I now have 135k

Dealer oil and OEM filter every 10K changed at the dealer. Million miles of proof from the million mile oil rig delivery Tundra. Every other oil suggestion is just guesswork. Engineers pulled that million mile motor apart and inspected the internals after 1,000,000 plus miles on only Toyota oil and filters with all the service entries to prove they’d been done... everything looked great.

Makes sense! And most dealers here in Washington are using Mobile 1
