I carry a completely ridiculous hand cannon: it’s a it’s a Springfield XDM chambered in .45 ACP with a 5.5” barrel. It is absurd and borderline unreholsterable (yes I just made up that word) due to its size...and I plan to continue carrying it :).

Good luck and be patient. In the beginning you will find yourself hunting for the dot. Just a suggestion when you pull it up have one eye shut just like you would for irons then when you see it take a shot and open them both. The one eye method is helpful until you really can find the dot every time. And i run red dots on a few. Picked these up last night for a couple new guns i picked up

I got a quick range session in yesterday, I'm in on the red dot 100%. I'm just as accurate as I was before and after 30 mins almost as quick and I can keep my head straight. I moved the sight over to my edc and am going to send the other slide off to be milled the only question is what to get it milled. The sightmark I bought has the same pattern as the vortex and burris so I might just get it milled for the sightmark so I can wait and upgrade later. I did have to hack up one of my old holster for red dot but I couldn't even feel it on the gun. It did rub on my belt buckle and wore off the finish on the guard though.

I have a 45 ACP with a 3.3 inch barrel. It's the bottom one in the pic. :)

That's how I feel about it. The whole guns pretty torn up. There's a reason I carry a shield and not my custom shop 1911

New to forum, and new to the Tundra world(previously had two 4th gen 4Runners).

My EDC is one of two Sig's, either a P365 9m, or a P239 w/.40 and 357 Sig barrels. The 365 is great to carry, IWB, while the 239 is usually OWD. I like them both, but if I had to chose only one, I would probably keep the 239 (and regret giving up the 365). The 239 fits in my big mitt a bit better.

On a gun that small you may be better off waiting for Sheild arms to release the new dot they have with a glass screen. The current model is plastic. That’s about the only single stack size dot out there. Right now your best option is an RMR. I would only trust that or a DPP for carry. Make sure you get the sealing plate because it’s going to hang over your slide.

Honesty the size of the sight doesn't bother me at all. Even with the extra bulk of the plate it is only sticks out maybe an 1/8" on each side. I think I'd be more important to have a larger fov than to have a red dot that fits the gun better.

Since it was end of business day and a three hour wait on the background check, I'll pick it up in morning. Haven't fired since the Air Force days but it will come back to me. Now just have to find ammo.

Hate the hellcat haven’t seen a single one not have issues. I hope you don’t experience these issues. Before you shoot it take it home disassemble, clean and lube it

Yes, I read about the guns being dry at purchase. I will give it a good clean and lube for sure and only put good ammo through it. I appreciate the heads up!

Try www.ammoseek.com. They are pretty good. I have used them a few times. There's another one called ammograb but I have not been to their site.....not yet anyway.

G26 most of the time with G19 mag as a spare.

S&W 360 for outdoor exercise only since it’s so light I forget it’s there when running or doing calisthenics. Loaded with .357 and 5 more on a speed loader.

Off-duty I either carry my work gun, a Glock 22 with a Trijicon RMR or a Glock 48 with a spare Shield Arms 15 round magazine.

Regardless of the gun I carry a small Streamlight, knife, and first aid kit. The first aid kit goes on by ankle if I'm wearing pants and in a cargo pocket if I'm in shorts.

Bored on a Saturday night, just looked through all 23 pages. Things I have learned:

    1. Thank God I live in Tennessee. Very relaxed gun laws and over time they continue to loosen up more.

    2. Ya'll carry some big weapons for EDC.

    3. Guns will end up costing me more than my Tundra.

Bought a Ruger SR22, Sig p365, and Sig p238 recently. Even though it is crazy right now, I got good deals on all 3!!

Was looking at a Sig p220 Legion .45 For the home, but now am entertaining a Springfield XDM .45 as it is 1/2 the price.

I posted here a couple years ago but have switched things up. I carried a M&P Shield for a long time but traded it off and am all Glock now for defensive handguns. My current edc is either a G19 or a G43 in a kydex IWB holster, Benchmade Griptillian, Apple Watch, iPhone, spare mag, keys and sometimes a multitool. My wife carries a G43 too so it makes it easy should she ever need to take my gun.
