The thread says "Wash and Dry" by the way, nothing about waxing. He has a brand New truck, and grey from what it looks like. There is NO wax on a new vehicle. So I was talking about washing a 13 year truck with minor scratches anyways, so who cares how it's washed. Somethings deserve better, and after washing the car would be a 4 step process of shinning it up. Talking about at least $400 for the shine kit..................but I would still start out with F$%^#$% DAWN. Then no washing with Dawn after that just polish. Depends on what you have...........Do you have a Lambo? Is it a Truck you will be taking to the car shows? Do you have a Powder Puff truck that will never see work it's entire life? Or just need to impress people. So it's either spend $400 or :mudding:Go four wheeling and spend pennies. There you go, you now have a choice. :hattip:

Exactly......you have a truck. Not an exotic. You dont need $200 Carnauba wax, plus the rest of the kit.

What is this kit you speak of?
I have never spent 200 on any detailing product or tool, even my polisher was under that. I recently got some carpro cquartz ceramic which was $50 and lasts 3+ years and enough carpro reload to last a few years for $35. Those are way better than a carnauba lol.
And I know I have a truck, but it cost me $40k+ and to me it is my exotic so I intend to take care of it and keep it looking good. I also know a lot about detailing, you do not. You throw around this idea of some kind of expensive mystery "kit" and give someone terrible advice, someone who wants to take care of their truck the right way. Your advice was so poor that someone actually thought you were being sarcastic, when in fact you're just clueless and give advice on a topic you know nothing about. Prove me wrong and enlighten me in the "shine kit".

Exactly...why would you when you can get a good sealant better than that wax for around $40. You just googled an expensive wax, one that comes in a wooden jewelry box lol, good for you. It still doesn't mean you have a clue what you're talking about. You would spend $100 on a clay bar, soap, 2 buckets, 2 mitts, a good drying towel, spray sealant, and some quick detailer that will all last most people a couple years, all quality stuff. That not expensive at all. And it's not just a few items you have laying around your house that do a shitty job and harm your paint. You have crappy advice to someone looking for help. He didn't ask how to be a cheap ass, he asked how to properly wash his truck, he also didn't mention he had a $7 budget.

And you weren't saying how much you could spend, cuz you could spend a grand, or 2 grand. You specifically mentioned a "$400 shine kit" but haven't said what that is yet

He asked how to wash a truck, I wash mine with Dawn and always will, I'm not for expensive waxes, just saying they're out there so that doesn't matter. I dont wax my truck anyways, I use a paint protectant if I wasn't clear on that. That's not all the time, because I'm more concerned about my interior, because that's were I sit, and truck still smell like new for an 07.

No paint protectant either, not bad for a WORK truck.
