I’m curious if anyone has ever seen anything like this after debadging. Only visible in bright, direct sunlight and at certain angles.

I debadged a 10 year old truck, and the outline of the badge remains.
I expect it to be less noticeable after a few years of weathering.

Wipe it with Goof Off, or some other adhesive remove and wax the area often.

That is a lot of residue from the adhesive, but also that area is scratched and swirled like crazy. Definitely needs to be clayed and polished out. It looks like whatever was used to attempt to clean off the tape was quite abrasive.

When I run my fingers across the area it feels very smooth, only reason I’m not so sure it’s residue.

Interesting, try a clay bar and some polish. It could be hard water stains in the clearcoat. Water does tend to get trapped behind those badges

OP did you ever find a solution? Did you use a heat gun? Looks like you may have burned the residue into the paint.

Rub it with some orange go-jo with pumice. Then wax it.

I removed my badges with dental floss and used the 3M eraser wheel to get rid of all the adhesive.

By the looks of your paint, I would say you'd benefit from a clay bar/compound/polish/wax. I'd start softer like just a polish, but looks like you may need compound. It almost looks like the adhesive did something to your clearcoat(which seems nuts) for a 2019.

I've used this in conjunction w dental floss on my BMW's . It worked great every time. Best of luck.

I just bought a 2020 Platinum and will be using it soon to get rid of chrome emblems for blacked out.

I did the exact thing and then washed and waxed the truck.

How about no, don't do this. That's so freaking abrasive. Bad advice.

Id hit it with WD40 or goo gone, then rubbing compound and wax.
