The simple truth is market dictates the parts that we make available.... 1st gen Tundra parts(and tundra armor in general) just does not sell very well and does not have the demand of other vehicle platforms. Hell I think I've sold more GX470 front bumpers than 1st gen Tundra bumpers, and the GX bumper has been available less than a year whereas we offered 1st gen Tundra bumpers for about 4-5 years before pulling the plug on all Tundra armor and product development and selling my own personal 3rd gen Tundra a few years ago. Actually for that matter i'm Member #19 on the site and had bought a 3rd gen shortly after release and joined up right when Bob started the forum. We evaluated the site and market pretty hard over the years, built some new parts and had more in development but ultimately decided it was in our companies best interest to focus the time/energy elsewhere.

A lot of people are out of work over this virus, some even died. Not exactly a tasteful choice to drop a sale using that code.

Dark humor isn't tasteful. That doesn't make it ineffective. It's a coping mechanism for shitty situations.

Prime example: a coworker who was an EMT and a good man just passed from cancer in the last few days here. It hit me much harder than I thought it would. Surprised me actually. Guess what, still laugh at cancer jokes. Sometimes it's a laugh or cry situation, and some choose to laugh.

Now, dogpiling on a vendor because they don't make a product for a generation of vehicle, or run their business in a way that is soley directed (or even mostly directed) at the Tundra... That's distasteful, and it could make other potential vendors pass over the community. Does @RelentlessFabrication produce anything I want for my truck? Nope. Am I going to jump their shit for it on the forum? Hell no.

Keep up business... if it doesnt work here, capitalism will weed it out. Just because the world is focused on this pandemic doesn't mean everything stops. Nothing wrong with still trying to make money for your business. We are too sensitive...life goes on

What about people trying to make a buck on the pink ribbon due to cancer or the likes, yet nobody beats an eye at that shit... if your argument is it goes to support cancer research or the likes you might want to check the numbers.

Keep it up @RelentlessFabrication screw sensitivity

Thanks for the sale @RelentlessFabrication !

If I was self employed with a small business I would be running a sale as well, makes sense.

    For the record #19, I'm #8 .

Guys, this isnt a post to poke fun of a crappy situation, but really whats the harm in using the code we did? The virus is basically the only thing people/media is talking about right now, why not use that to our advantage and have a memorable discount code? Is a discount code really something to get offended by? So many other companies are offering sales all of a sudden, maybe they're not using the discount code we are but why beat around the bush, we all know why they're offering their sales.
This virus is effecting a lot of people no doubt- from perhaps being sick, to losing jobs, hours cut, forced quarantine etc etc. Small businesses feel the impact a lot, and we too still have our own employees with families that we're trying to help keep food on everyones table and their jobs secure. It continues up the supply chain too, we have plenty of other vendors we use daily from materials, to powder coating, to shipping etc and if business hurts for us, it'll hurt for them up the chain as well. Then what? more job cuts, perhaps defaulted loans/mortgages. Everyone needs to be on the defense right now and play damage control while the damage is less than what it could turn into if we ignore it.

Easy to say until somebody you know is affected. Not even about sensitivity or being offended, it's just bad taste. If the promo code was "toilet paper" I'd have a laugh at that.

Not here to dogpile either if that's the impression given, the rant Wumbo went on about first gen support was an age old story that could be aimed at any fabrication shop. Nobody makes first gen parts for long and the reason why is clear, has been for 20 years. No biggie, I'd sooner build my own and know it's what I want than rant for somebody else to build it.

    Best of luck with business.

While I respect those that are not happy with the code, I think it's a great way to throw a double-bird to the virus. And as long as you sell one thing here for the Tundra, promote away...

Listen, I get it. I totally support the idea of a sale for this.

I believe this because much like laugher is a coping mechanism is trying times, being the my shop wrenching is also a choice coping mechanism.

I live in Alberta, long story shortish, wife and both kids have a flu=2 week confinement. Schools have shut down, and since Monday, I work from home now. Being in the shop is therapeutic for me, and it’s getting a lot of time lately and will see more I’m sure.

Thanks for tossing a sale on :):hattip:
