Im always searching for a crew max, even though I bought my double cab just 6 months ago.

A dealer has a 5.7 SR5 in Blazing Blue Pearl that I'm seriously considering looking at. It has the bucket seats, power drive side, paint protection, entune, etc

What do you think I should be paying out the door for this? Its listed at $38,975. Thats their "no haggle internet price".

I'd buy used but my color is too new and I want to swap over most of the stuff from my truck to the new one (color matched bumper corners, grill).

I'd also like them to swap my boss kit, UCAs and wheels/tires haha. I can remove the HIDs, step bar and stubby antenna before I trade it in.

I traded my D.C. In less than 2 years of owning it for a brands new CM. So much more room for the kids. We also upped the trim level to the limited one. I think we paid $43k for the 5.7 4x4 CM limited. Fortunately, I always pay more than what is due a month for my payments so we were not upside down on the loan.

Keep in mind- colors effect pricing

@joem1cha3l i don't think you can go wrong with the crewmax. Tons of room. Any truck I buy from now on will be a crewmax.

I know it fellas. Biggest reason is because of the car seat in the back of my double cab...

And the baby isn't gonna get any smaller as time goes by!

Crew max is new Steve. I'd go used but I'm pretty sure 2017 is the first year the crew max is relatively easy to find (keyword is relatively) in a crew max.

Just a thought since it's happened to me before. It was also a Toyota dealership, I believe, picking up my moms used Acura... their site said "no haggle" but when we got there it only pertained to brand new vehicles. You didn't mention, or I just didn't read all the messages, if this truck was brand new or used. If it's used they might still haggle.

Does the CM have the 5.7? If so, that's another massive upgrade.

I got lucky! My DC is 5 years old now, I've owned it 2.5 years and wife and I will be starting to try for kids in a couple of years. By the time the kid turns about 2 or 3, it'll be time for a new truck!! That's when I'll be jumping to a crewmax!!

Definitely saving for suspension and a few amenities beforehand!!!

I have a family and I still prefer a double cab to a CM. I know I'm in the minority in that aspect though. If I didn't haul as much stuff, I'm sure I would want all that room.
The 5.7 though is for sure a massive upgrade. Not only for the power, but also for the larger ring gear, more coolers, bigger alternator and larger fuel tank

    See fine print
Make sure you get the 38gal tank!
But having a kid myself that is still in a baby seat(forward facing), I can't see myself having a smaller truck. When we take the wife's jeep, the baby just keeps kicking the front seat. In the Tundra she can't reach it lol.

Take your time. Don't rush in. I upgraded from a DC 4.6 SR5 to a CM 5.7 Limited and paid $3500 in between. But it took me close to 5 months to find it. Also, I couldn't be picky on the color.

I did the exact same thing, except I traded a 2WD SR5 CM for a 4WD Limited CM. I owned my 2015 for 22 months when I traded it in for the 2017.

In regards to DC or CM, I guess you just have to decide which would be used more and which is more important...passenger space for family or bed for hauling?

I got a phenomenal deal during the Toyotathon sales event. The best advice I can give you is look up values for your trade and for the new truck. Come up with numbers in your head and don't budge. I made up my mind I didn't NEED a new truck, so I would only get the new one if I got everything I wanted, not a penny less. What my latest purchase further proved to me is that dealerships have plenty of room in the price of the truck. No matter how good I think my deal was ($8.5K over payoff on trade + a written $5,000 check for items not swapped to new truck), I know they still made money somehow.

The baby seats in the back were the main reason we went with the crew. Once you turn it around your kid won't be able to kick the seat in front of her because there will be too much room. It'll keep you from going insane.

Crewmax was needed for me. I say go for it and definitely swap everything over so you are not running a stock truck again.

CM was must for me. Traveling with a 1 year old is a lot nicer in it. Plenty of room to grow.

CM is very roomy. I had gout a little while ago and I rode in the back and my wife drove me around. I didn't fully realize how comfortable it was until I rode in the back. Having the whole rear window roll down is a sweet bonus. Just do it. You won't regret it.

I agree with all of the child seat posts here. My son is forward facing but same as described above, in my wife's 4Runner or in my older trucks he can kick the front seats. I have him in the middle in my Crewmax and he LOVES it. He can see and help me drive with his steering wheel. The Crewmax was a big part of getting a new truck. My wife actually walked across the floor in front of his car seat over the weekend also. A little room to spare is nice.

So in Sept 2015 I had to take my Dad from CT to VA for his brothers funeral. My mom, sister and wife came along. We have always been a luxury car family, but, none of us had a car large enough for five (dad Lincoln MKS) mom (Acura RL) Sister and Wife (Maxima's) me Honda CrossTour. So we rented a van and it turned out to be one of those new Ford things with three rows. We were cramped, it was slow and bright red!

I made up my mind somewhere around Jersey that I was gonna a larger vehicle. With that being said, I bought my CrewMax Limited out the gate. It's a bit overkill, but it has more room than a little bit and when we took my parents and mother in law to NY not long ago we were all comfortable and my Dad and I didn't have three women yapping right in our ear.

Get the CrewMax and a utility trailer and have your forever truck, one and done

I personally wanted the bed space for hauling considering both the CM and DC were the same overall length. I used to be CM only when my kids were younger. Now that they don't need car seats anymore the DC is plenty large. Also I've had a couple buddies (6-1; 6-3) ride back there with no issues.
The Toyota DC is larger than other makes. Same with the CM.

The rear window is awesome though. I'd love to have that feature on the DC. I'd pay a stupid amount of money for someone to figure that mod out. Hahaha

We went to the beach in Newport RI this summer, had the windows with the AVS ventshades, sunroof and slider just cracked, and never needed to use the ac. On the way home it different because the truck had been in the sun all day, but once it cooled down the act went right back off

I definitely understand where you're coming from. I did the same thing. (well, sort of) Bought a Tacoma, liked it but didn't love it. Traded it in 9 months later on a CM Tundra. I have all of 0 REGRETS. I love the truck. I don't really tote a lot of people around in the back but the big doors REALLY helps getting larger items back there. I've already fit a fully assembled office chair (brand new and was raining so I didn't want it in the back) and a 60" TV. No problems getting either in and out.. Not sure that could have been done in a DC. (probably can but I am just trying to persuade you.)
