    Name is Marvin and I just got a new 2017 Tundra 1794. I'll be moving from Houston TX to Anchorage AK in January. I'm looking for advice on the best tires to use for my 2017 Tundra 1794 in Anchorage AK. Are the BF Goodrich All-Terrain A/T KO2 or the Toyo Open Country A/T a good choice or what do members recommend for the driving conditions in Anchorage, AK? I know that there is a Toyo Open Country C/T, but I was told that since that is a commercial grade tire it needs to run with more pressure and the air pressure gauge will always be on. It seems that higher pressure would lead to a stiffer tire and with the cold temperatures in AK i thought one would prefer a softer tire. I will be going from stock 255/55/20 to 285/55/20. Thanks in advance.

    Welcome from CO.

    @matluth

    I have had really good luck with Michelin LTX MS2 and Hancook dynapro ATM.

    I would not go with a LR E tire on your truck. They ride like lumber wagons.

    Thanks. Doesn't seem like those are available for a 20" rim.

    Welcome from TN!

    I'd get some duratracs. Those seem to get damn good reviews in snow.

    Maybe change up tires according to weather. Snow=duratracs no snow=maybe an AT (I do like my toyo AT's just not in heavy mud which is to be expected being an AT)

    Welcome from eastern CO! I'm betting Matt will recommend Duratracs. My buddy had em on his Powerstroke and they seemed to do well in the snow here in Colorada.

    Ok so I may be leaning towards the BF Goodrich because Costco carries them and they do free tire rotation and tire inflation for the life of the tire. It's an added convenience that I know I will take advantage of. It seems that I can't go wrong with any of the three tires. I appreciate the feedback and the welcome. Let me know if you guys have any reservations. Thanks
