Pond boats and towing a pop up/camper

    Does anyone have a small pond boat like a pond prowler, sundolphin or such?

    How well do they fit in the truck bed?

    I have a crewmax...considering a 10 foot prowler but also need to tow a pop up camper. Think the boat will be too long?

    If so, wonder if I can somehow lift up the rear of the tow when hauling it and towing to get some extra clearance?

    Thanks, I have the 5.5 bed so a 10 ft pond boat would stick out a little more. I am thinking that I may be able to rig something to raise the rear end of the boat in the bed to gain some extra clearance when towing.

    Nice truck you have there.

    When I was younger my dad had a similar problem you do. He just cut some 2x4s to the width of the pop-up and lined them with some old carpet. We would then just flip the boat over and place it on top of the pop-up, and tie it down. Works great if you always have someone with to help. Not my picture but a Google search pulled up some results of what I mean...

    That could be a solution, however, my Pop up has rooftop AC. That is a cool rig!

    Depending on the layout of your boat you may be able to "fit" the AC in the void the hull creates when flipped upside down. Maybe?

    Bilsteins all around,110v and 12v in the bed, Rocklights, Dual Batteries, Trailer Brake Controller Mod, Lots of DIY Mods
    I have an 8 ft. Bass Pelican I put in my 2010 CrewMax. I put it in the bed or turn it sideways and sit it on top of my bed. Works great. I’m now working on installing an ATV winch in the bed to pull it up out of the water.
