Even if you plan on replacing the HU in the future this or any AMP will help, i am truly loving this amp...but I will tell you, you don't need a 5/6 channel amp if you don't plan on ever running a sub...you could just get a 4 channel to run your doors as the dash speakers are powered directly from the HU

I ordered this unit with DSR1, front, rear, and dash speakers. I swapped all the door and dash speakers from the JBL but have not been able to get the amp and DSR1 installed. Mine didn't come with any instructions. Do you by any chance have the instructions you used?

Update. I was very hesitant to install this myself since I've never installed an amp. I was told by several installers it would be $400-$500 and a day or two for tuning . Some told me they wouldn't install it because I didn't purchase it from them, oh well. Once I figured out the wiring it was fairly straight forward. This thing sounds so much better than the factory JBL. It is truly night and day difference. I should have done this months ago. James answered all my questions very promptly.

So it says Sony amp in first post but in the link it shows Kenwood amp? Been looking to upgrade my non jbl “premium” sound system in my 18 and this looks like it could be the ticket

I know I am late to the game here but if I go with the Sony amp at the start of this post do I also need some sort of signal conditioning DSR or LOC. I may not be using all the terms correctly here. 2017 Tundra Non-JBL. I already upgraded the door speakers and tweeters with Hertz Audio units and dash speakers with JL Audio from James. Now I want to upgrade the factory Amp under the passenger seat but I am unclear on the need for the LOC or equivalent. I am a but of an audio dummy.

    Thanks for your help here.
