When my dad gave my oldest boy my pop pops 16 gauge it wouldn't fit into my ist safe because the barrel was too long. Sooo, that was my justification for another one. You know, need to protect a family heirloom and keep it locked up.:D

I have a Timney 3-4 LB single stage trigger in one of my ARs. It breaks super clean and has a very short throw, almost like clicking a mouse. It is the perfect trigger for a rifle that you would be shooting from a rest. I have found that it scares me a bit since it is so sensitive, and isn't really conducive to the type of shooting I have done recently (walking/jumping out of a truck to shoot at a pig etc).

My latest build has a Geissele SSA-E two stage trigger and I absolutely LOVE IT. It breaks like the Timney, but since it is a two stage you get to take up the slack and know when it will break.

You get used to the single stage, and then a 2-stage becomes wierd to shoot.
    I have 4 or 5 2-stages I’m weeding out.

Here’s a decent trigger review - Geisselle stage 2 breaks at over 4#.
    Timney breaks over 2#.
I know that scares some and every platform is for a different purpose. After shooting a 1# Jewel in a bolt-rig, it becomes what you get used to and compare everything else to.
I will never go back to a 2-stage or a 5-7# MilSpec trigger.

I guess Tom Vehr who started Velocity Triggers designed and was a big part of Timney for a number of years (and at Knights prior). He broke off and did his own gig. Kind of cool

For a general all around build not a high dollar custom, you cannot go wrong with a laRue MBT flat trigger for $87.
