Right?!! I love my trucks, this build, and the whole forum magic: enthusiastic newbies getting together for Shenanigans, plus super-knowledgeable, talented people like Bruce who can do this kind of magic build, and him and the other SGU guys, teaching and bringing us along.

I'm telling you, this making my trucks my hobby sure takes the sting out of payments. All it is, is fun!

When I eventually paint or wrap it, I'll probably go some kind of green. I'm liking the HulkSmash theme.
I do like pinstripes! I LOVE not worrying about bushes, branches, door dings. It's fairly dry here and I can probably go a few years without much rust. Protection will be what drives me to paint or wrap it.

Then when I do, I'll want it to look nice... and then I'll be back to worrying about it. No hurry here! :angrygirl:

    Sliders!

These are HD-SKO by Stubbs. They're beefy and fit well:IMG_7393.jpg

We're both happy with 'em and I hope to slide over something next Monday.

Also installed the the transmission skid from Skid Row:IMG_7633.jpg

Anybody off work Monday 7/8 to play in the dirt with me?!! :p

Very nice. Mind sharing about how much shipping was for the sliders? I was just curious. For the price they have listed I am tempted to buy and not build mine.

Here's what I paid. These are really well-made; about the same size and with more connections between the main support rails than the s d h q sliders on my 3rd gen.

This is a great price! Even if he raised it a bit by now to cover the increased price of steel, it's very good value compared to other options I've seen, all gens. I included the entire message because I think it's cool this guy apologized for lead times of a couple of weeks....;)

Seems reasonable to me. If shipping isn't crazy I'll probably just go with them. I can make my own, but in the quantities I get round tube they would cost me probably $300 in material. That's if I use Dom and I guess I could use hrew.
Anyway they look great on your truck.

    Thanks; I think so too!

Yeah, I bought round tube for the front prerunner bumper Bruce made, and that was more than $200. Once that happened, and once I got at a look at 'em, I really appreciate the price for these sliders.

Locker(s)... Absolutely! Only hold up is lack of money. ;) When I get caught up a bit, we've prioritized bedsides because I've already stuffed a tire into the fender, and to accomodate spacers to bring the rear width (currently 80") closer to the front (85"). It's like driving two trucks at the same time over obstacles; gotta spot for two completely separate lines.

Then I want SwitchPro to install lighting; new headers, injectors, and exhaust because it runs out of power before I do :angrygirl:; but definitely want to do locker(s).

@papasmurf is a big fan of Downsouth Motorsports here in San Diego, so that's where I ordered the Kings.

My desert truck is about that width. I think it's 82-83" in the front and maybe 78-79" in the rear and it's funny how the ruts and such move the ass around funny. It was very scary in the snow back when it was a daily driver. Rwd, locker, and a 5" track difference makes for fun snowy highway lane changes.

So you are planning wheel spacers for the rear to get it closer to the front? Seems like the easiest option with our lug pattern and dumb Toyota changed it on the wider 2+ gen tundras.

Wow, I can imagine! So yours is 2WD locked?

Yup, already have spacers on the rear; I need to measure to be sure, but I think they're 1 1/4". We'll replace these with 2" spacers, make up a little of the difference between front and back. I guess the rear tires still won't follow, but probably an improvement. So far, it handles okay on fast, non-technical-- but the rock crawling requires higher thinking on worthy obstacles.

'Be awhile before I can add lockers. Gives me opportunity to build my skill, learn to work with what I got. What I got is pretty cool: the truck just walks up less-challenging stuff! But I wanna clamber over more challenging stuff-- as well as keep up in the desert!

My tundra is 4wd but my ranger prerunner/fun truck is 2wd. The tundra is about 100% more comfortable to drive every day. Hopefully after suspension it still is.

Super nice build. There's definitely some coin going into this. Glad you are enjoying the truck and having fun. Are you using stock shock mount in rear? I noticed your res are going parallel to axle so either changed mounts or cutting and extra long hoses? Thanks

Shes not using anything stock in the rear, it's a cantilever setup.

Yup, MCM’s cantilever system. Longtravel without having to cut the bed. Very fun!

If you have any specific questions, hit up @papasmurf. He spec’d and built it: installed everything, did all the welding.

I’m sorry I’ve been late to get a parts list up. It’s coming soon.

A few questions. Love this build.

What shackle was used for the rear? Looks like stock hangers?

Hace you cycled rear for travel numbers?

Bump stops in rear? Didn’t see any.

What is your current track width in front (outside of rubber, not tread).

What gear Selene you planning for rear to get to 700lbs? Starting to spec my rear setup.
