    Hi Chris,

    Thanks for being here.

So quick few questions if you dont mind :)

What are the stage 1 trucks getting done for the added fuel? (stock injectors, stock ECU, and stock fuel pump... but something with the FPR?)

And are the 18+ any different as far as how the stock ECU is programmed as far as fueling for this? (ie, different/larger Map table etc?)

Thanks man! Thanks for bringing us more toys too! :) The Harrop looks very promising.

Just another update: Truck was supposed to be finished today, but took a little longer than expected. The Magnuson is installed along with the Radium Engineering Dual Catch Can. They also finished up the front end which included adding their custom collar to the TRD Pro Suspension and installing the Coachbuilder shims to net me an additional 1.5" over the normal Pro height. The rear end got a set of Coachbuilder +3 shackles which just needs to be finished up (installing the new bushings). After that, it will be off to have the alignment checked. They also installed the ARB Diff Breather kit that I dropped off. I should be able to pick the truck up tomorrow (assuming late morning/early afternoon). I pushed my tire install back at Discount which was originally scheduled for 8:30 and is now moved to 1:30 in the afternoon. My Figs Coolant Reservoir just arrived today as well (ordered on 1/31) which was delayed due to a hold up on some needed fittings. I picked up the coolant tank this afternoon from the UPS facility and will drop it off at the shop tomorrow so they can swap the stock plastic tank from Magnuson with this one.

Been a long journey, but tomorrow should finally be the day.

Will do. I plan to snap a few after I pick it up and again after the tires go on. Everything in the engine bay was neat and clean. They definitely didn't rush through any steps in the process.

Update: Should be getting the call anytime now to go pick it up. They ended up taking my wheels/tires off and dropped them off at Discount Tire for them to install the new rubber while they finished up the shackles this morning. That was really nice of them so I didn't have to take it to Discount after they finished it. I also gave them the Figs Coolant Reservoir this morning to replace the plastic tank. Everything is done, just waiting for the alignment shop down the street to finish it up. They had 2 vehicles in front of mine, but said they only take about 45 mins each. Tight turnaround as I get off work in 45 mins, but then need to get to a 2nd job right after. I'll do my best to grab a few pics to post this evening. Tomorrow is my brother's wedding and it's going to rain all day, so not a good day to get some shots of it. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks, I was late getting to my 2nd job, so I don't have much time tonight to give some commentary on everything, but so far I'm really impressed. There is a small noise almost like a rattle if you're driving normally and give it just a bit of throttle. Doesn't sound like pinging or anything, but not quite sure what it is or if that's normal.

Just drove the truck approximately 20 miles between jobs since I picked it up from the shop. First impressions are that it definitely has much more power/torque over stock for sure. The truck feel lighter on it's feet and accelerates as if it's nothing. I've been real easy on it so far, no more than maybe 30% throttle. Just want to run it smooth for a few days before I start to open it up more. I'll try and look everything over good this weekend, but they did a great job from what I can tell. He recommended adding some Torco to the tank, but it's not necessary, anyone else running this in their tank?

Here's a list of everything they did:
    • Installed Magnuson
    • Installed their custom collar onto my TRD Pro front coilovers (+0.5")
    • Installed Coachbuilder Shims on front (+1.0")
    • Installed Coachbuilder +3 shackles
    • Installed ARB Rear Dif Breather (mounted in engine bay)
    • Coachbuilder rear brake bracket extension
    • Coachbuilder carrier bearing drop
    • Radium Engineering Dual Catch Can System (PCV, Crankcase)
    • Figs Coolant Reservoir
    • New 295/70/18 Cooper AT3 XLT's
    • Had to remove front mud flap and trim stock skid plate
    • Alignment

I only had 1/2 tank of gas in the truck (91 octane) from Circle K. I'll fill up tonight with some better gas, maybe Shell to see if that eliminates the very slight rattle I'm hearing. I could be nothing at all....I'm listening very close to everything, just what I noticed. The truck rides quite a bit better than before likely from the shackles and new bushings as the front end updates shouldn't really change the ride. Feels nice and tight.

If I know I will be towing heavy in hot weather or getting on it hard I like to add a bit of Boostane to the tank. Not a full dose(0.26oz/gal) mind you...But 0.13oz/gal is good for a full 2.0 point bump and is cheap insurance against a slightly sub par tank of premium.
    https://boostane.com/about-boostane/boostane-mixing-chart/

Torco is good stuff too, and a bit cheaper to buy at places but it require's 6x more per gallon for the same effect. 1.6oz/gal is the normal 4.0 full point bump, so you get the same 2.0 bump insurance for 0.8oz/gallon.
    https://torcoracefuel.net/products/torco-accelerator

I prefer the Boostane as the the Torco always seemed to turn my plugs a redish color when using it in my GT500 and SVT Cobra's. Its probably nothing to worry about I imagine, but the Boostane appears to burn cleaner without the residual for me at the lower cost per gallon dose rate.

    Looking great!!!

I'm curious how the custom collar works for the front. I have the .5" CB front PRO shims and there isn't much of any room for anything else that felt safe to do. Also, I thought +3" is the max at which the stock uca's would take an alignment? Do you have any pics of the collar before it was installed? I was trying to see from the pic, it looks like it is above the spring and under the top cap... Doesn't that put more preload on the spring? Sorry for the many questions, I haven't seen or heard of any other custom lift additions to the PRO susp. Other than CB. Thanks

    Again, truck looks awesome!

Here is link to the kit they make in house: https://westcottdesigns.net/product/fox-trd-pro-lift-kit/

I did the Coachbuilder shims up on top. The custom collar they build goes in place of the factory one on the bottom end to give an extra 0.5". They created this kit so people can run 35" tires w/o the need for a CMC. I asked about the factory upper control arms and he said no problem and it's perfectly aligned. Would it be better to do aftermarket control arms?...Yes, but this does work with the factory as designed. It's raining here today and I have my brothers wedding in about 3 hrs. I'll take some pics of the angles tomorrow and post them up. Here's a picture I took the other night showing the collar. The above link also shows pics of the collar. They show the kit for the Pro with Fox shocks, but it also works with the older Bilstein Pro Shocks like I have. Honestly the front end feels much better than it did before, although I didn't have any complaints prior.

    Nice!
Thanks for the info. A 3.5" lift is a perfect height imo.

Agreed. Paired with the +3 shackles it appears to sit perfectly level.

Any update on the “rattle” you heard?
Did it dissipate after some miles or does it still exist?
    Anyone else experience this?
Hate to think there was an issue with the new blower right out of the box.
(Especially since mine has arrived and is awaiting install!)

Well, the rattle was confirmed to be some detonation. It only seems to happen when in a high gear and low rpm when you apply moderate throttle, but not enough for it to downshift. We added a can of torco to the tank and refilled thinking it may have just been some bad gas in the tank. Since the torco was poured in it has only happened once more over about 100 miles. I'm going to continue monitoring this week and then give the shop an update. He said if it continues to do it we will have magnuson modify my tune to try and correct as the next step. I'll have a better idea over the next couple days if its still happening.

Well, after about 300 miles since the can of Torco was added I'm still getting the pinging, although it's less frequent than before, but still there. I shot over a text message as the shop wanted me to let them know after a few days of driving with a fresh tank of gas and the added Torco if it was still happening. It's still only in the same scenario (high gear, low rpm with moderate throttle applied). He was going to put a call into Magnuson and see about getting my tune modified to resolve this.

I did some checking around for other tuning options as well - just to see what is out there. There is a local company called Dyno Comp that says they can modify my tune and run it on their dyno, but at a cost of $1,400 seems a bit steep. I couldn't find any reviews from people with Tundra's either, but did find one picture on their Facebook page of a supercharged Sequoia they tuned. I've thought of doing the OVTuning, but know there is a decent turnaround time to get it. I would also need to purchase a laptop to do some data logging at another expense.

I'm happy with the tune from Magnuson if they can just correct the detonation, at least that will allow me some time to decide if I want to keep it or go down a different path at a later date. For now, the main concern is to eliminate the detonation and keep the engine safe.

Keep us posted. I couldn’t get anything out of Magnuson and would be really surprised if they custom tune yours. They just don’t seem to be interested in that. Agree, $1,400. Wow. Shifting will be much improved if you go OV but like you posted, will be a long wait.

I'm with 4Runner on this...the chances of Magnuson custom tweeking your tune is slim. Matt with OVTune would most likely be able to get you hooked up with a base S/C tune that will be extra safe with no pinging involved in as little as a couple of week's. Its the logging and additional revisions for the fine tuning that will take a while longer. Honestly I'm not sure how comfortable I would be driving your truck in its current state of tune :( Stay out of any boost and baby that thing until you get this resolved.
