What are you guys using to cut into the stock muffler for the resonator? IIRC a hole saw was recommended. Is there a certain one rate to cut into metal?

Most hole saws will be treated for metal. If you do not have one already your local homeless depot/blowes (sp?) should have a few different brands, most any should be treated for metal and will work. Just cut slow and use cutting oil if you have to and they'll be fine .

Another option is to use a plasma cutter if you have one available at a friend's or somethings. All that is required is to crawl under and mark the pipe, cut a hole, and bolt it on (no needing to pull the tailpipe)

If you are going to be laying on your back to do this may I suggest that you line up the resonator in the correct position making sure it clears the spare tire, and make your marks with a sharpie. Now lower & remove the spare tire, this will make the installation of the resonator that much easier.

For anyone inquiring about installation advice or tips, dirty deeds put up a good video awhile back on how to do a the install from start to finish.

He even does it completely blindfolded at the end

Curious if anyone is also going with an exhaust tip and which? Found a few posts about the Go Rhino GRT234410B but not hot about cutting the tailpipe.

I know it’s $337 for an aluminized system. So probably $437 for stainless.

I paid the full price when I ordered, but at that point he knew that the total order count would be over 50, so he knew what the final price would be.

Supposedly over 50. Will be +1 more once I finally get a hold of Keith. Not his fault, me working 60+ hr weeks with no cell access.

So, I just noticed my “stock” exhaust isn’t stock...I never saw the weld points where the muffler meets the tailpipe until just now. I assume the DD 8” I ordered won’t actually work unless I buy a stock tailpipe from somewhere, which really sucks. My fault for not looking closer before ordering. Previous owner must have had the current muffler welded in.

Here’s the front, which looks fine to me:
    upload_2020-2-22_18-18-41.jpg

And here’s the back (where I think I’ll have a problem):
    upload_2020-2-22_18-19-6.jpg

Anyone have any bright ideas on how to address this? Or know of anyone selling a stock tailpipe for cheap?

@dirtydeeds could use your advice on this if you have any to offer, appreciate it.

    @Bob_Wiley

You could always contact Keith and as long as he hasn't made yours have him dump it and install resonators. Or check local scrap yards

Instead of the flange, have him put an expanded piece of tubing that slips over whatever size your tailpipe is, and then use a clamp on it. Or weld it

The standard 8in system comes with a resonator correct? Or do I need to call and ask for that?

You can also use a regular drill bit. Just drill holes along the outside of your circle, light hammer tap will knock out the center.

Good deal! I also ordered one and am actually on the way to pick it up from Home Depot now (it was the cheapest with ship free to store).

So what’s the total price on a SS system with over 50 orders?
