Have you checked to see if your blade is square with your fence?

Might be an arbor issue, also double check that your blade is staying tight and is not warped. Extend the blade all the way up, turn it on, and sight down the blade front to back. You can usually see it wander. I also have my table saw rigged with 3 featherboards - one to keep the material pushed against the fence and 2 to keep it pushed to the table when the material enters and exits the blade. But I agree, if you've never had an issue before, your arbor may be the culprit.

Tried again last night with a feather board. Same thing, if I stop feeding the cut is visibly wider. I ran the saw with the blade at full hight and don't see any wobble. Removed the blade and reinstalled. Will try again later today.

What is the model # of your saw? Theres a way to check just this to make sure it's not your fence , I'll take a pic of my saw when I get to my shop on how to do this, a little tricky but youll get the idea. I have 3 table saws, my delta unisaw has a slight wobble, but the the cut is always true. My little dewalt job site saw had an issue like your describing and it was the fence..hopefully it is just the fence because its an easy fix.

The grain lines in the wood look like the Myrtle wood we have around here, I've seen Cottonwood have those lines as well, but cottonwood is often very hard to work with and often jambs up a chainsaw with fibers while cutting them down. I've seen beautiful furniture built with Myrtle wood.

I haven't been posting much lately as I've been busy with my woodworking and carpentry business i started. Coveislandcustoms. Organizing and setting up my shop the past month and a half with the odd carpentry job on the side. I really love dining tables of all types so that's what I'm focusing on when I can. This table i built out of 130 yr old framing hemlock i salvaged in my house when i took out a few walls. The tundra has been a huge help, I've had it loaded up to the brim nearly everyday. If any of you guys frequently post your projects on Facebook or Instagram shoot me a message at my coveislandcustoms pages. I really enjoy seeing others projects or shop photos its all inspiring and a great community. And for those wondering i run all my power tools off originally 4 solar panels without a hitch. Now I have 10 with a big battery setup so will be insulating and running heaters off the solar as well.

Thanks, the pup is my dads, actually the shop is at my parents but they don't use the space for the most part. I'm grateful I can have access to it as our home doesn't have a shop or garage I can set up in. I think they also like the company haha. And I was surprised by the solar too. I've run my dewalt bench planer for a couple hours straight without a hiccup and that's drawing more heavily than my mitersaw or table saw. The shop has hydro but might as well use the free stuff when you can.

Where do you guys get wood from? I've bought wood from Home Dept many times and I'm tired of digging through piles for straight boards that aren't hacked up. 2x4s or 1x6s, or really any size is always like I'm digging through crap.

Is wood at lumber suppliers better in that way?

I usually order my wood from ebay. You can find pretty good prices on walnut, cherry, maple, spalted maple etc etc I usually buy about 40-40 bf at a time just keep an eye out for independent hardwood suppliers sometimes they will give great deals on off cuts and peices with “character”

It’s hard to find lumber around me, bigger city’s will have hard wood suppliers small cities usually only have Lowe’s or Home Depot. Depending on what part of the country your in they may stock local species, for example in my area besides the normal southern yellow pine and cedar they have they usually have a decent selection of red oak edge and planed ready to go. If you have a wood working store by you I’d try there as well, something like woodcraft

Check the build link in my signature.
For general rough frame materials my experience is they all have roughly the same materials. Building material lumber hasn’t been the same quality “it used to be” for the better part of my life time... most of it is hybridized quick-growth tree farm raised pole trees that are barely big enough in diameter to get a 2x12 out of the dead center. The spring wood is most of the tree, and it’s unstable as soon as it starts to dry. On top of that, they don’t bother to kiln dry most of it (which can have its own issues, but at least the wood is drier/more stable) so the lumber shows up at the yard (HD or otherwise) damn near still dripping water. Bring it home and as soon as it’s in the shop it starts to buckle and twist on you.

When it comes to non-framing lumber - your hardwoods, true pine (at least in the PNW, where most framing lumber is fir), and finish plywoods, you need to go to a true lumber or specialty wood store. Home Depot will carry S4S pine, poplar, red oak, and maybe maple in 3/4 thickness at ridiculous prices... if you’ve got a table saw you don’t need S4S (though I would recommend a planer to be able to thin stock to your exact needs). A specialty or lumber supplier will have S2S and S3S in about any species you can imagine and in thicknesses from 4/4 to 8/4 or more for a fraction of the price and you can find just what you need.

I will hit Home Depot if I need some electrical parts, basic plumbing supplies, a sheet of sheet rock, and a couple 2x4’s and the Mrs. wants to look for a couple pavers for the yard or a flower pot all in the same trip. Otherwise, I’m headed to the local specialty suppliers.

    </rant>
    :amen:

I should also add that checking out local ads (Craigslist or local papers in small towns) you can often find small mobile sawmill operations that can often give you a lead on small quantities of really odd stuff. Where I grew up, there were several small local mills that did specialty cutting that we got a lot of stuff from for projects around the house from big timber framing beams to a whole load of blued white pine that I think my dad still has some boards left over after 40 years.

Yes, wood at lumber suppliers is a lot better than what you find at the box stores. Craigslist can be more productive than you might think, small family sawmills still exist in most places but that might depend on where you live. If you can a friend (or two) want to get a log sawn-up, a high value tree like walnut, you might also search for tree companies that have portable bandsaw mill. You're going to end up with a lot of wood and you need a good dry place to store it but if you get a high value tree, that's something i've done before

    Here's my (meager) contributions.

Bookshelves: These have special meaning, as they were the last thing my Dad and I built together before he passed. He did about 1/2 the work; I did the other half, and all the finish work. I forget the exact measurements - they're around 3' wide or so by 7' tall (they were made to fit in our master bedroom suite).

Pantry: Much more boring and emphasis on the 'wood' and not so much the 'working.' LOL We had two dinky closets side by side (why in God's name the builder built them like that is beyond me); and it drove me nuts trying to figure out what to do with them. One day, wife said "Is there any reason we can't knock them down and make one big pantry or closet out of it?

So we did just that; and once done, I put pine shelves in there. Wife wanted wire shelves; I said "no way." They're interlocked with the vertical support, with L-brackets tying them together in the middle. I did the flooring as well from some leftover stuff we had from our master suite addition.

This came up in my FB memory's. We flooded in 2016 required a full gut of the house and I lost my job because they flooded and never recovered.
My 62 yr old buddy thats a cabinet builder asked me to come work for him and help where we could. He and I built and installed 119 sets of kitchen cabinets that included bathroom vanity's, laundry cabinets, FP mantles etc. between Sept-Dec. 2016
We worked like Hebrew slaves, mostly paint grade but a lot of old cypress, some ash or hickory

Making a long narrow table for the dining room. 10ft long 30in wide. Using some reclaimed hemlock. Still searching for the top. I would like 2 15in wide boards but haven't found something I like yet.

I never pass up a chance to show what I used to do, albeit, I m not on the level that some of you folks are at.
The majority of the cutting was done with this old Emco desktop cnc mill. This is how I got into cnc programming.

Beautiful, and carries so much more meaning than some store bought vessel.
I did the one for my FIL. Tiger stripe maple with walnut dovetail splines. The defect in the top was on purpose... because he wasn’t perfect either. He’s sealed in there with his favorite cat, Andy, who had to be put down only a few weeks after he passed. When my MIL passes, I’ll be opening it back up to put her in there as well.
