I can see it with the logging application as well. I simply have not driven my truck in over a month or so. My 1998 Ram plow truck and my daily car see the winter abuse right now. My Tundra gets used Spring, Summer and Fall mostly towing my Toyhauler and Boats. Not nearly as many adjustable parameter's with the Supercharged BD tune...Throttle sensitivity and Transmission shifting was pretty much it if I recall correctly as I have not messed around with it since I installed/tweaked it over three years ago.

OP...Gearlocking will allow you to hold the higher gears longer when towing your toyhauler. I did around 2000 miles round trip over to the black hills and back last summer towing my toyhauler +9K# only rarely needing to shift down from 5th/6th. There were a couple of grades across the Missouri river valley I let her drop into 4th. Attached a pic of the old V10 Ram plow truck for you guys to NOT drool over :)[IMG]

I chose DAP Tune for my '07 5.7L SR5, and I installed it 12/2018. It was my my first experience with this type of upgrade, and I am very happy with the results.

Well not really bullydog has many options to choose. You can set up several configurations for throttle sentivity, tune, trans shifting, and speed governor. It’s not just one configuration. Bullydog, ov tune or dap tune are all similar for power gains for n/a which op has. So i based my experience through the years of research and trial and error for our 5.7 engines. Like i said bullydog is the only tune that changes afr and igntion timing...

I do hope you mean that with the BD you can change these yourself...Because both Shrek(DAP) and Matt(OVTune) modify those things and many more as part of their tuning process.

I do agree with you that as far as a value tune the BD is a good value. Everything I have read or seen leads me to believe DAP is a big step up and OVTune being the best remote tune available. Top shelf Tuning would be to find yourself a good Tuner with a Dyno, and familiar with both the Toyota Tundra platform and HP Tuners. Real World personal experience here with the 5.7l Tundra...Stock...BD N/A...BD S/C...OVTune S/C. Again I was seriously looking at DAP as I did not consider the BD S/C tune to be my "forever tune" with it's flaws. I am happy to say OVTune announced their 5.7 Tundra tune prior to me finding my way to get DAP tuned in person. It was a longer process for me as I got involved with the pre-release development stage than it will be for Tundra owners going forward but I am beyond pleased with the end result.

I get that you researched and purchased a Bully Dog Tuner and now feel the need to justify your decision to do so by praising it. Yes it makes more power than stock and has some adjustable features...However please don't kid yourself that it is on par with DAP Tuning and even less so than OVTune. Ive seen the Dyno comparison's both N/A and S/C. Again...I am done here as this is starting to feel like a Mustang forum where I explain to another member that his canned American Muscle "Bama" tune is not on the same level as a Lund, VMP, Lethal, Weir, Etc...custom remote tune

Once again i have to repeat myself to tundra owners. Dap tune does not adjust igntion timing to specify octane i cannot stres this enough. When your using bullydog on premium tune you have to use 93 because if not it will ping with 87 trust me iv tried. Dap tune you can either 87 or 93 on the same tune. So his tune is not for a specific octane therefore not advance the timing like bullydog does.. All tuners will gains the same hp and torque numbers at peak but what really counts is under the curve and where peak torque comes in. Im pretty sure ov tune is a great tune not saying anything bad about it. I didnt just researched it i did trial and error. I did bullydog and my buddy did dap same truck 5.7 his alittle newer 2010 but i notice bullydog more low end torque than dap.

Just realized something with my bullydog. I have it set to premium tune and it really cruises better on the freeway.

The truck almost never downshifted on small grades that it used to. Maybe the timing is all cleaned up with the tune and it no longer bogs down. Cruise control mpg is up!

When you put it in premium using 93 octane timing is advanced and fuel is being pulled to save mpg. I notice a big difference from regular to premium its a new truck. Remember only use 93 not 87.

We only have 91 in CA, which still works without issue in it in most situations. Im just blown away how capable to motor was in 6th gear. My mpg in cruise control was 18.5 at 75 mph. About 2mph improvement at that speed!
