Wife and I have the same setup but hers is a 2011 with 50,000 miles on it.

That fucking thing wont die and she wont trade it in.

I voted the Rav 4 because I think the new ones look bad ass for a little car.

Kinda what I’m planning on! Daughter has 2010 with 100k and still running strong.

Similar situation here. Wife has a 2018 Rav4 Adventure, I've got the 19' Tundra and we share the Audi S4. The Rav4 is nice to have for a smaller vehicle that gets good gas mileage and fits into tight spaces.

They both need a wash but here is my 2020 Tundra and the wife’s 2017 RAV4. I’ve been eyeing a lunar rock RAV4 Adventure that’s for sale nearby but can’t justify the used car market prices right now (listed for $39,988).

The RAV4 is an excellent vehicle. We needed a little more room for the family and went with the Highlander.

Does the Highlander have hatch area lighting? The wife's RAV has none but when the hatch is opened the dome lights over the front seat area light. How stupid is that.

My wife’s RAV4 has a light in the cargo area.. on the righthand side. Replaced the factory bulbs with much brighter LED’s. Factory one back there is admittedly dim.

@SandburRanch My wife’s does as well. 2018 Rav4 Adventure. Small light on either the lower left or right side of the cargo area. Has a little switch on it, maybe yours is turned off

Good to know and if her 2019 has that light we would sure like to know how to activate it. She drove a new 2016 and we worked in the dark for 3 years.

We are similar too. I have a 2011 Tundra DC Sport Package and the wifey has a 2019 Rav4 XLE. She drives a ton for work everyday so we upgraded her 2006 Corolla with 190k. Also have my LS430 tucked away in the garage for when the weather is nice.

I just got a 2021 a couple weeks ago. I didn’t realize it had a light back there until a few days ago. You can’t see it at all if you have the cargo cover extended. So seems like a great lit commuter so far.

Found the switch, thanks. Now I can try it without my LED headlamp. Some may think this is trivial, but here is to them the best of luck when they hopefully age to be well above senior status and their sight in dim lighting is as good as when they were a teen.

It's looking as if my headlamp will still be code to see the instrument panel when driving my Tundra in daylight hours. There doesn't seem to be any other lighting solution for those lights. For that discussion see my other post that pictures what I see in daylight hours.

I was looking at a Highlander a few days ago and while visiting with 2 sales people simultaneously neither of them mentioned that.

And without the cargo cover it wouldn't take much height of cargo to cover it. The wife hauls so much cargo etc. etc. that may be why we haven't noticed it.
