Thanks for letting me join the forum. I've owned my Tundra since 2008 and it's the best truck I've ever owned. I do need help though.

I'm sure someone has encountered the problem I'm having, so any help would be so appreciated. My problem is this: On Monday, when I started my truck, something sounding like a Turbo began roaring and did so for about 30 seconds then stopped. Next my check engine light came on and my truck started running at half power.

I took the truck to a shop and had the code read and it showed a Secondary Air Injector Valve closed. Since then I have researched as how to resolve without taking it to the dealer and paying the obscene cost for the repair which was quoted to me around $3,100.

Yesterday I removed the Air Injector Pump and cleaned all the buildup off, reset the computer, started the truck and it drove as normal. Then I turned the truck off, let it set for a couple hours, and restarted at which time the check engine light came back on and the truck when back to half power. I have watched a video that says the injectors can be unplugged and the truck will return to full power with the check engine light staying on which I can tolerate but I can't figure out where and what to unplug or if I should even try this. Can anyone help me please?

Well K, I have a 2008 dc and my trucks eng, vsc, and traction control followed by half power, which I would learn later that is limp mode. Toyota should cover that up to 100k or 150, not sure. Don't know what your mileage is so hope this helps. Supposedly the water pump design was inferior or basically poor design. I had to pay for labor, but everything else was covered. I guess it depends on what kind of extended warranty you have. Good luck
