So tonight I went out to get something out of my garage and heard a sound that was coming from under the truck. Discovered that it was the fuel pump. I thought "WTF is that? Now I gotta dead battery and gotta take the thing into the dealer tomorrow". Found out it was normal but thought I'd share a video of what it sounds like.

Yes, 100% normal. It's self testing. My wife's highlander does this as well

I smoke in my garage and that sound freaked me out too. But what caused your battery to die?

I was thinking that before I found out it's normal!

How is it normal if it drains your battery? Is there a timer to make it run every so often? Does the switch get stuck?

My 2016 makes the same noise - at first is a little shocking when you hear it. Now I'm just used to it.
